Steelers’ biggest mistake? Analyst rips George Pickens trade

The controversy was not long in coming after George Pickens’ move to the Dallas Cowboys, and one of the first to speak out was NFL analyst Craig Carton, who did not hold back: “It’s highway robbery,” he said on his show, harshly criticizing the Pittsburgh Steelers for the deal

Pickens was sent to Dallas in exchange for mid-to-low value picks, with the Steelers not getting a first or second round pick. Carton believes that, given the quality and potential of the receiver, Pittsburgh made a strategic mistake in letting him go for so little.

An opportunity for the Cowboys.

From the analyst’s point of view, the Cowboys were the clear winners in the trade, achieving one of the best wide receiver duos in the league alongside CeeDee Lamb. Carton noted that Dallas got a player with great potential without giving up high-value picks, and suggested that Pittsburgh underestimated the impact Pickens could have in another offensive environment.

The receiver still has a year left on his rookie contract and has no intention of renewing before the start of the season. That situation, for Carton, represents little risk for Dallas, who could enjoy an explosive season without long-term commitment.

While the Steelers face criticism for what many see as a miscalculation, the Cowboys are celebrating strengthening their offense with elite talent. The pressure is now on Pickens to prove he’s worth the controversy… and on Pittsburgh, who will have to justify why they let go so much for so little.

Saquon Barkley fires back at ‘Tush Push’ haters: ‘If you don’t like it, get better at stopping it’

Getty Images Known for his elusiveness on the football field, Saquon Barkley has taken a different, more direct approach this offseason when it comes to discussing a few matters involving himself. Barkley, who recently defended his decision to golf with President Donald Trump, has also come to the defense of the "Tush Push," the Philadelphia Eagles' highly successful yet highly controversial play. "If you don't like it, get better at stopping it," Barkley recently told ESPN. "It's not like a play that we only do. Everyone tries it, we're just super successful at it." While it's still legal, you could say that the "Tush Push" is in jeopardy of becoming part of football's recent past. NFL owners tabled a vote on the play's future on April (16 owners voted to outlaw the play) and there has reportedly been a strong push to have […]
