While fans today know Jason and Travis Kelce as NFL legends, a new episode of the New Heights podcast offered a hilarious and revealing glimpse into their childhood that has fans cracking up and appreciating just how much patience their parents, Ed and Donna Kelce, must have had.

As the Kelce brothers geared up to celebrate Mother’s Day, they invited their mom, Donna Kelce, onto their podcast. And what she brought to the conversation wasn’t just sentiment-it was comedy gold.
“You used to run around the house with this towel over you and this chip clip. Okay,” Donna began, setting the stage for a story that only the mom of Travis Kelce could tell. “And so the chip clip, you know, cut your neck right there.
Analyzing NFL Strength of Schedule
“And so we went into preschool-they asked you how’d that happen, and you told everyone that it was your father and that he cut you with a knife.”
Three-year-old Travis Kelce not only managed to injure himself during a costume session but turned it into a full-blown accusation against Ed Kelce, his dad.
On the podcast, Travis acknowledged his mischievous streak: “I liked to manipulate things a little bit. See how the things are going to play out.”
And that early affinity for causing controlled chaos? It clearly started long before he stepped onto an NFL field.
Jason and Travis also shared a clip where they phoned their father, Ed Kelce, to get his take on how he would’ve reacted if young Travis had told a stranger: “You stole me.”
“What would my reaction be?” Ed said. “Yeah. Shut the F**k up.”
Later, Ed even called the boys back, still fired up from imagining the scenario.
“Travis is the one that would have tried to pull that off,” he said without hesitation. In an attempt to redeem himself, Travis asked Donna who between him and Jason would have staged that prank.
Her answer was direct and definitive: “It would have been you.”
