Das ist hart: Ein kompletter Handball-Klub steht plötzlich ohne Halle da. Und wendet sich mit einem emotionalen Hilfeschrei an die Öffentlichkeit.
Die SG LVB Leipzig, deren 1. Männermannschaft in der Oberliga spielt, trainiert mit all ihren Mannschaften in der Sporthalle eines Gymnasiums im Süden der Stadt. Normalerweise. Denn nun schloss die Stadt die Trainingshalle komplett ab.
Zur Begründung hieß es, dass die Sperrung wegen fehlenden Hallenpersonals erfolgt sei. Dagegen wehrt sich die SG LVB nun mit einem offenen Brief.

Darin heißt es: „Mit großem Bedauern und wachsender Besorgnis haben wir von der kurzfristigen Schließung der Sporthalle Telemannstraße für den Vereinssport erfahren. Diese Maßnahme betrifft nicht nur den Trainingsbetrieb von sechs Kinder- und Jugendteams sowie fünf Erwachsenenteams der SG LVB Handball unmittelbar (302 Vereinsmitglieder, insgesamt 14 Trainingseinheiten pro Woche) – sie trifft mitten ins Herz unseres Vereinslebens und unserer gesellschaftlichen Verantwortung.

Dass uns die Trainingsstätte von heute auf morgen entzogen wird, ohne realistische Alternativen oder Übergangslösungen, ist für uns nicht akzeptabel und das nehmen wir auch nicht so hin.“
Einen Vorschlag unterbreitet der Klub gleich mit: „Wir sind bereit, Verantwortung zu übernehmen und unseren Teil der Lösung beizutragen: Wenn es an Personal zur Schließung und Sicherung der Halle fehlt, bieten wir an, diese Aufgabe selbstständig zu übernehmen. Wir garantieren, die Halle in einem ordnungsgemäßen und aufgeräumten Zustand zu hinterlassen. Wir können alle Tätigkeiten in der Halle stemmen, wir können sie nur leider nicht zu- oder aufschließen. Wenn Sie uns hier Vertrauen schenken würden, wären wir sehr dankbar.“
