„Na konci dubna FIS obdržela oficiální rezignaci Christiana Kathola z pozice kontrolora vybavení na závodech Světového poháru,“ oznámil podle serveru Sport.pl Pertile na zasedání skokanské komise v portugalské Vilamouře.
Kathol už ani do Portugalska neodcestoval. Oficiálně je důvodem operace kolene, se kterým měl už dříve problémy. Kvůli nim prý není schopen nadále plnit své povinnosti na 100 procent. Funkci opouští po třech sezonách. Před ním ji pouhý rok zastával Fin Mika Jukkara, který nastoupil po Seppu Gratzerovi. Ten pracoval pro FIS 30 let.
Skandál v Trondheimu vypukl před dvěma měsíci těsně po závodě na velkém můstku. Spustilo ho video z anonymního zdroje, na němž je skrz zalepená okna hotelového pokoje vidět, jak se norským skokanům po oficiálním očipování kombinézy upravují. Přihlížel tomu šéftrenér Magnus Brevig. Na základě videa podalo protest několik výprav a následovala dodatečná diskvalifikace norských skokanů.
Kvůli tomu chce FIS změnit pravidla a systém kontroly skokanského vybavení. Už nyní rozšířila tým kontrolorů o bývalého skokana a jednoho z členů polského realizačního týmu Rakušana Mathiase Hafeleho.
Kvůli rezignaci Kathola ale zatím k dalším větším úpravám pravidel zatím nedojde. Ty by měly funkcionáři probrat online až 3. června. Kdo bývalého hlavního kontrolora, který i nadále bude na menší úvazek pracovat pro FIS, nahradí, zatím není jasné.
