O Sport já tem seu novo treinador para a sequência da temporada, e mais uma vez a aposta será em um nome de Portugal. Nesta sexta-feira (9), o clube anunciou que António Oliveira comandará a equipe e,m substituição a Pepa.
O acerto entre o treinador e o Rubro-Negro se deu durante a semana e, na última quinta-feira (8), o treinador chegou a Recife para os últimos detalhes e, no dia seguinte, dar seu primeiro treinamento e conhecer o elenco do Leão
Contrato até fim do ano
Maiores detalhes sobre o contrato de António Oliveira com o Sport não foram revelados, mas o que se sabe é que este vínculo vale até o fim de 2025, com cláusula de renovação mediante uma meta específica: a classificação do time para a Copa Sul-Americana
Além do treinador, o time pernambucano contratou outros quatro integrantes da comissão técnica do português, estes sendo Diego Favarin, Vitor Couto, Felipe Zilio e Fábio Miguel. E o novo comandante já registrou suas primeiras impressões em sua nova casa.
“Esse calor humano é o que me faz sentir em casa. Agora é trabalhar para atingirmos aqui os resultados que irão permitir que o objetivo seja alcançado”, disse o técnico.

Com 42 anos. António Oliveira foi contratado por sua experiência no futebol brasileiro, tendo começado sua trajetória pelo Athletico-PR e, depois, passado por Coritiba. E terá no Sport um objetivo claro em seu começo de passagem pela Ilha do Retiro: fazer o clube deixar a lanterna do Brasileirão e brigar na parte de cima da tabela.
Caso esteja totalmente regularizado, poderá fazer sua estreia pelo Leão neste domingo (11), contra o Cruzeiro. Se não, terá seu primeiro jogo comandando o clube no próximo fim de semana, diante do Ceará.
