A trial of the magnitude of Diddy‘s was never going to be straightforward. Despite an incredible amount of evidence and allegations levied against the disgraced music mogul, Day 4 of the trial wrapped up on Friday and will continue for likely quite a while. According to CNN, the trial is “anticipated to last eight weeks“. That gives plenty of time for Diddy’s defense team to try anything to get his sentence reduced.
We’ve already seen Diddy make changes to his defense team, as his case is almost completely lost. There’s no way of him weaseling his way out of it completely, so his lawyers need to come up with creative ideas in order to turn the tables in any way. After four days of trial, it appears they are going with a new strategy: pinning blame on Cassie Ventura, Diddy’s ex.
Jamie Foxx wildly roasts Diddy by comparing the music mogul to the Devil and making fun of his downfall
Diddy’s lawyers claim that Cassie was “mutually violent” towards him
The video footage of Diddy physically assaulting Ventura is what kickstarted Sean Combs’ downfall. The evidence is too much for Diddy’s lawyers to negate the facts about his abuse towards Cassie, but their new move is to claim that the violence was mutual. Combs’ attorney had this to say to the judge on Day 4 of the trial.

[The defense] is going to take the position there was mutual violence in their relationship; hitting, on both side, DV (domestic violence). We are absolutely going to admit to domestic violence. But at what point does it become coercive?… We’re saying it’s relevant.
Users online couldn’t believe what they were reading. Some were simply stunned at the idea of pinning any blame on Ventura, while others are saying Diddy’s claims are “bulls**t”.
Ventura is expected to testify against Diddy at some point soon. According to CNN, she could take the stand as early as Monday, along with two other witnesses.
