There is no doubt that the great figures of the mainstream sometimes seem to live ideal lives, without major worries and enjoying their millions, but it is obvious to say it, they suffer, cry, worry and suffer like any other, and sometimes, often, even more than the average person
The environment in which they develop after making the decision to start a family is, for some stars, an uphill battle, a painful process that they never seem to overcome. This is the case of singer and actress Cher, who, in her impressive half-century in show business, has had to deal with a serious family problem with her son, Elijah Blue Allman, now 48 years old, the result of her relationship with the late rocker Gregg Allman.

The controversial guardianship application process
This week in Culture: The best of the Met Gala and the one filmmaker to look out for at Cannes 2025
Realizing her son’s delicate problems, Cher applied for guardianship in December 2023, claiming that her offspring “was unable to substantially manage his own financial resources” due to “serious mental health and substance abuse problems“.
And this move was to oppose Elijah’s relationship with his wife Marieangela King, whom Cher considered to be the bad influence who had led him to perdition, so it became personal and King even accused her of trying to kidnap her son to put him in rehab. Cher denied everything and finally dismissed the guardianship lawsuit in September 2024.
The debacle after the divorce
Well, a few days ago Elijah was seen outside the famous Chateau Marmont hotel on Sunset Strip in Los Angeles in a really deplorable state, with his clothes in tatters, visibly drugged and struggling to stay upright, but with a long, polished fingernail on his right hand that is suspected to be used to inhale substances.
This event revived the controversy and all the media sought out the singer and actress, but there was no response. The last thing that is known about Elijah’s personal life is that King filed for divorce and they separated on March 31, 2025, not without first requesting temporary spousal support of $6,000 per month and taking away a 2017 Toyota Prius.
