A trajetória de um dos maiores representantes brasileiros no MMA chegou ao fim neste sábado, durante o UFC 315, realizado no Canadá. Após ser derrotado por Aiemann Zahabi, José Aldo anunciou oficialmente sua aposentadoria dos octógonos. O ex-campeão do peso-pena perdeu a luta por decisão unânime dos juízes (triplo 29-28).
Em seu pronunciamento, o lutador afirmou que chegou o momento de se dedicar à família. Aos 38 anos, revelou que já não sente vontade de continuar lutando e reconheceu que seu ciclo no esporte se encerrou.
“Dana, muito obrigado por tudo. Também agradeço a todos do UFC. Esta semana foi extremamente difícil para mim, não em termos de corte de peso, mas por estar travando uma batalha interna. Ainda tentava reviver o sonho de ser campeão, mas percebi que é hora de seguir em frente, curtir minha esposa, meus filhos. Não quero mais estar nesse ambiente”, declarou.
O veterano revelou ainda que teve uma espécie de epifania durante o processo de corte de peso.
“Enquanto perdia peso, senti algo dentro de mim dizendo que não precisava mais fazer isso. Não importa se haveria ou não luta. Eu apenas não queria mais continuar. Acredito que esta foi minha despedida.”
Outros destaques do UFC 315
Na disputa pelo cinturão dos meio-médios, o australiano Jack Della Maddalena saiu vitorioso contra o palestino Belal Muhammad, também por decisão unânime, e conquistou o título da categoria.
No peso-mosca feminino, Valentina Shevchenko manteve o cinturão ao vencer Manon Fiorot, consolidando seu segundo reinado na divisão até 57 kg.
Outro momento marcante da noite foi a inclusão de Vitor Belfort no Hall da Fama do UFC. Campeão do UFC 12 nos pesados e ex-detentor do cinturão dos meio-pesados, Belfort foi homenageado e incluído na classe de 2025.
Brasileiros em ação
Além de Aldo, outros representantes do Brasil estiveram presentes. No card principal, Natália Silva derrotou a mexicana Alexa Grasso por decisão unânime.
Já no card preliminar, Daniel Santos foi o único brasileiro a vencer, superando Jeong Yeong Lee. Jéssica Andrade acabou sendo finalizada por Jasmine Jasudavicius ainda no primeiro round, enquanto Bruno “Blindado” Silva sofreu um nocaute de Marc-Andre Barriault e precisou sair de maca.
