Mohamed Salah legt eine Traumkarriere hin. Erst Ende letzten Monats konnte er mit Liverpool erneut englische Meister werden. Zum zweiten Mal, nach der Meisterschaft mit Jürgen Klopp als Trainer (2019/20). 2019 holte er mit Liverpool die Champions League. Doch ein Ziel hat er noch! Das erzählte er im Interview mit „France Football“.

Was er damit meint? Salah erklärt: „Wenn du aus einem Dorf in Ägypten kommst, ist es schwer, als Kind vom Ballon d‘Or zu träumen. Erst, als ich nach Liverpool kam, begann ich zu denken, das vielleicht eines Tages … Aber auch wenn ich ihn nicht gewinne, wird meine Karriere dennoch erfolgreich sein.“
Eine klassische Underdog-Geschichte. Ähnlich wie bei den mehrfachen Gewinnern Messi und Ronaldo. Salah schaffte den Sprung zu den Profis noch in seinem Heimatland – bei El Mokawloon. 2012 ging es weiter nach Basel, 2014 zum ersten Mal auf die Insel. Bei Chelsea wurde er mehrfach ausgeliehen, ging schließlich zur Roma. Dann der ganz große Durchbruch: 2017 holte ihn Liverpool für 42 Millionen Euro.

Salah weiter: „Ich bin erst 32, einige Gewinner der vergangenen Jahre waren schon in ihren 30ern. Also wer weiß? Zumal die nächste Saison sehr aufregend wird: Wir wollen den Meistertitel mit Liverpool verteidigen, dann gibt es natürlich wieder die Champions League, dazu der Afrika-Cup und die WM mit Ägypten.“
Weitere Titel könnten also Folgen. Denn: Salah hat gerade erst bis 2027 verlängert. Die berühmte Auszeichnung wäre die Krönung seiner Karriere.
