Seine Verpflichtung war ein Volltreffer!
Wojciech Szczesny hat großen Anteil daran, dass der FC Barcelona eine überragende Saison spielt. Die Spanier stehen kurz davor, die spanische Meisterschaft einzufahren. Der Pokal-Triumph ist schon vorher perfekt gemacht worden. Das Double ist nach dem Sieg im Clásico gegen Erzrivale Real Madrid am Sonntag somit fast sicher.
Doch Barça könnte den Torhüter nach nicht mal einer Saison wieder verlieren. Barcelona will den auslaufenden Vertrag mit dem Polen eigentlich schnellstmöglich verlängern, bietet ihm einen neuen Zweijahreskontrakt.
Szczesny vor Barça-Abgang?

„Ich muss mit meiner Familie entscheiden, was das Beste für uns ist. Ich denke, ich bin es meiner Familie und meiner Frau schuldig, diese Entscheidungen gemeinsam zu treffen. Deshalb habe ich noch keine getroffen. Die meisten Entscheidungen über mein Zuhause trifft meine Frau, und ich schäme mich dafür überhaupt nicht“, fügte der 35 Jahre alte ehemalige polnische Nationalspieler an.
Und weiter: „Normalerweise treffe ich die Entscheidungen, die den Fußball betreffen, aber das ist eine sehr ungewöhnliche Situation, da wir entschlossen waren, für ein Jahr hierherzukommen, um zu versuchen, unsere Träume zu verwirklichen und dann wieder Golf zu spielen. Ich werde mich in den nächsten Wochen entscheiden. Im Moment genieße ich, was passiert ist, und frage mich nicht, ob ich hierbleibe oder nicht.“

Szczesny wurde im vergangenen Oktober nach der schweren Verletzung von Barças Nummer eins Marc-André ter Stegen aus der Fußball-Rente geholt. Eigentlich hatte er im Sommer seine Karriere nach dem Aus bei Juventus Turin beendet. Für Barça kehrte er auf den Rasen zurück – und überzeugte auf ganzer Linie.

Ronald Acuña Jr. injury update: Braves star to begin rehab assignment nearly a year after tearing ACL
Getty Images Atlanta Braves outfielder Ronald Acuña Jr. will begin a rehab assignment on Tuesday as part of the Florida Complex Rookie League, according to The Athletic. Acuña will play the outfield and will report back on how he responds physically before the Braves proceed from there.Major League Baseball's rules allow positional players to have up to 20 days on rehab assignment. Pitchers, meanwhile, are afforded up to 30 days. If a rehab assignment has to be paused or cut short because of a setback, the player in question is allowed to begin the cycle anew.Acuña, 27, has not appeared in a game since May 26, 2024, when he tore the ACL in his left knee. Samozřejmě tyhle starty jsou pro národní tým varováním. Dánové měli den volna a v úvodu byli lepší. Dokonce bych řekl, že nás přejeli. My jsme už jako tradičně měli slabý vstup, přicházeli jsme o spoustu puků a nedokázali jsme si poradit s napadáním soupeře. Před neuznaným gólem to byl čistokrevný námaz, ale znovu nás zachránila dobrá práce videokoučů a těsný ofsajd.Přemýšlel jsem, z čeho tyhle špatné začátky zápasů vychází. Myslím si, že hráči jsou si vědomí vlastní síly a věří, že to přece všechno dobře dopadne. Z toho možná pramení, že úvody nejsou úplně koncentrované.
