Liverpool-Star Trent Alexander-Arnold (26) ist im ersten Heimspiel nach der Bekanntgabe seines Abgangs im Sommer nach über 20 Jahren bei seinem Heimatklub gegen Arsenal (2:2) von den eigenen Fans gnadenlos ausgebuht worden.
Schon bei der Verlesung des Teams über die Stadion-Mikrofone wurde das Eigengewächs, das zunächst auf der Bank Platz nehmen musste, mit Buhrufen bedacht. Und nach den Schmährufen bei seiner Einwechslung (67. Minute für Bradley) wurde Alexander-Arnold auch anschließend bei jedem Ballkontakt ausgebuht.
Vor dem Spiel äußerte sich Trainer Arne Slot (46) zur Entscheidung, den Engländer auf die Bank zu setzen: „Die Tatsache, dass er geht, ist einer der Gründe, Conor spielen zu lassen. Es ist aber keine Reaktion auf seine Entscheidung. Wenn mir das in den Sinn gekommen wäre, hätte ich ihn vielleicht gar nicht in den Kader genommen.“
Bei der Einwechslung des Verteidigers sangen zahlreiche Liverpool-Anhänger: „There’s only one Conor Bradley!“ (dt.: Es gibt nur einen Conor Bradley). Der 21-Jährige ist wie Alexander-Arnold ein Liverpooler Eigengewächs und gilt als sein designierter Nachfolger.

Alexander-Arnold (gewann mit den Reds zwei Meisterschaften und einmal die Champions League) hatte vergangene Woche seinen Abschied aus Liverpool angekündigt und sprach dabei von „der schwierigsten Entscheidung meines Lebens“. Trotzdem nehmen ihm viele Fans seinen ablösefreien Abschied am Ende der Saison scheinbar übel.
[–>Ein Wechsel ist noch nicht offiziell, es dürfte ihn aber zu Real ziehen. Offen ist zudem, ob er bei der Klub-WM (14. Juni bis 13. Juli) für seinen neuen Klub auflaufen wird.
In der Premier League warten für Alexander-Arnold noch zwei Spiele mit Liverpool, darunter das letzte Heimspiel am 25. Mai gegen Crystal Palace. Trainer Slot wollte nicht ausschließen, dass er den Engländer noch einmal von Beginn an bringt.
