Klíma stejně jako jeho dvojče Kevin, útočník Hradce Králové, je rodákem z Tampy Bay a k americkému občanství získal předloni i české. Kevin v letošní přípravě na mistrovství světa v Herningu a Stockholmu debutoval v české reprezentaci, Kelly na příležitost čeká.
Za Liberec Kelly Klíma v uplynulé sezoně odehrál 51 zápasů a připsal si pět branek a sedm nahrávek. Celkem má v extralize bývalý hráč Hradce Králové a Mladé Boleslavi na kontě 248 utkání a 63 bodů za 27 gólů a 36 přihrávek. Má za sebou také působení v Tucsonu v AHL a v Norfolku v ECHL.
Rytíři už přivedli kanadského obránce Jérémieho Blaina z Hradce Králové, Tomáše Tomka ze Sparty a Martina Matějíčka z Peterborough ze zámořské juniorské ligy OHL a do útoku Kanaďana Daniela Audettea z Klotenu, Marcela Barinku z Vítkovic, Adama Bareše z Pelicans Lahti a Oskara Lislera z juniorského týmu Linköpingu.
