It seems like most of the remaining teams can win the NBA Finals right now. Any of the contenders can look around at the rest of the playoff teams and see flaws everywhere. Monday’s Game 4s feature the Boston Celtics trying to get back to even at the New York Knicks and the Golden State Warriors hoping to figure out a way to win without Stephen Curry.

Boston Celtics at New York Knicks
Knicks lead series 2-1
Series odds: Celtics -325, Knicks +260
The Celtics dug themselves into a 2-0 hole, losing twice at home after blowing double-digit leads in the fourth quarter of both games. In Game 3, it was all Boston in a performance that likely restored the confidence of the defending champions.
Boston won by 22 and Sixth Man of the Year Payton Pritchard was electric. He led the Celtics with 23 points and was 5-for-10 from beyond the arc. After shooting 25 percent from 3-point range in the first two games, Boston was on fire. The Celtics made half of their 3-pointers (20-for-40).
So, through three games, if Boston shoots terribly, it loses; if Boston shoots incredibly well, it wins. There’s nothing complicated there. To even the series, Boston could use another hot shooting night.
The Celtics are solidly favored on the road and are the clear favorites not only to win the series, but the Eastern Conference (-130). The momentum is all with Boston after Saturday’s win, but all it takes is one early run in front of the home crowd for the Knicks to feel in control of the series again.
Expert picks
Minnesota Timberwolves at Golden State Warriors
Timberwolves lead series 2-1
Series odds: Timberwolves -1000, Warriors +625
Golden State fans are wondering what could’ve been if Curry stayed healthy. The Warriors were among the best teams in the league after the Jimmy Butler trade and got off to a strong start in the playoffs with a series win against No. 2-seed Houston and a Game 1 win in Minnesota. However, it’s been tough to watch the Warriors on offense without Curry.
Butler has a history of carrying teams in the postseason, but it hasn’t been enough in the two games without Curry. Butler had 33 points in Saturday’s 102-97 Game 3 loss. Jonathan Kuminga even dropped 30, but Brandin Podziemski was 1-for-10 and Kevon Looney fouled out in 18 minutes. Golden State led by six early in the fourth quarter, but a scoring drought that lasted nearly four minutes proved costly.

The Warriors will be thinking a win in Game 4 would give them a chance when Curry returns, whether that’s in Game 5 or Game 6.
Minnesota’s odds of winning the series (-1000) are a sign of the pessimism around Curry’s injury status. Even if he comes back for Game 5 and Golden State is down 3-1, it might be too late.
