Anthony Stolarz back on the ice ahead of Maple Leafs practice

TORONTO — Anthony Stolarz took to the ice before the Toronto Maple Leafs held an optional practice on Tuesday morning, a positive step toward his return from a suspected head injury.

Stolarz hadn’t been seen around the team since getting knocked out of Game 1 of the Leafs’ second-round series with the Florida Panthers on May 5. He was taken to hospital for evaluation that night after getting hit in the mask by a Sam Reinhart shot and taking Sam Bennett’s forearm to the head, which left Stolarz throwing up on his team’s bench.

On Tuesday, Stolarz did some skating drills before taking shots from Leafs goaltending coach Curtis Sanford.

He left the ice before the team’s practice officially got underway.

The return-to-play progression for NHL players with head injuries typically lasts at least seven days. The league’s Concussion Evaluation and Management Protocol outlines a six-step evaluation process in which exercise, intensity and contact are steadily increased in 24-hour increments to gauge whether post-concussion symptoms are still present.

The fact Stolarz hadn’t been skating before Saturday, according to Leafs coach Craig Berube, is a sign that he is progressing through the protocol toward a return to live game action.

Stolarz is 4-2-0 with a .901 save percentage in seven appearances this postseason.

Joseph Woll has started for the Leafs in his place and is coming off a 35-save effort on Sunday night.

The series is tied 2-2 ahead of Game 5 on Wednesday.

2025 Fantasy Football Sleepers 1.0 from Jamey Eisenberg: Justin Fields’ legs gives him top-10 upside, and more

USA Today It's time for Round 2 of sleepers for this season, and this is the first edition following free agency and the NFL Draft. Obviously, a lot has changed since Sleepers 1.0 (INSERT LINK HERE), especially with the rookies, and these are players you should plan to target with mid- to late-round picks. Once we get legitimate Average Draft Position data then we can truly define sleepers for this year. For now, these are players that I anticipate being drafted after Round 8 based on mock drafts we've done with our CBS Sports staff, as well as drafts that I've participated in with other analysts for different publications. The outlooks for several of these players could change through minicamps and off-season workouts. And we'll adjust with another version of sleepers during training camp to get you prepared for your […]

The Celtics now trail the Knicks in the best-of-seven set, 3-1, but the outcome on the court is secondary. As teammate Al Horford told reporters, "The loss is the loss.
