ABC will kick off its Saturday night college football lineup this season with a likely top-10 clash between LSU and Clemson. An announcement on the game is expected at Disney’s upfronts later Tuesday.
The 7:30 p.m. (ET) Aug. 30 game in Clemson, S.C., will feature two of the nation’s top returning quarterbacks in LSU’s Garrett Nussmeier and Clemson’s Cade Klubnik.

LSU is ranked No. 4 and Clemson No. 5 in The Athletic’s early Top 25 for 2025.
A day earlier, Fox announced that it landed the much-anticipated opener of Texas at Ohio State, but the network did not specify whether the game would air in its “Big Noon Kickoff” window.
ABC’s Week 1 Saturday lineup also will feature Syracuse versus Tennessee in Atlanta at noon (ET), followed by Alabama at Florida State at 3:30 p.m. (ET). ESPN previously announced that the Aug. 30 edition of “College GameDay” will be 89-year-old Lee Corso’s last appearance on the show, leading some to speculate the traveling show might broadcast from FSU, where Corso played from 1953 to 1957.
ABC will also air Notre Dame at Miami (Fla.) at 7:30 p.m. (ET) Aug. 31. ESPN will begin Week 1 with a Thursday doubleheader of Boise State at USF (5:30 p.m. ET) and Nebraska against Cincinnati (9 p.m. ET) in Kansas City, Mo., on Aug. 28. The network also has Virginia Tech versus South Carolina in Atlanta at 3 p.m. (ET) Aug. 31 and Bill Belichick’s North Carolina debut against TCU at 8 p.m. (ET) Sept. 1 (Labor Day).
The networks have announced select game selections this week as part of their upfront presentations to advertisers.
On Monday, NBC released kickoff times for seven Notre Dame home games, including prime-time visits from Texas A&M (Sept. 13), USC (Oct. 18) and Navy (Nov. 8).
The networks’ full Week 1-3 lineups will be announced on May 29.
