Muller defende que Carlo Ancelotti promova uma renovação na baliza da seleção. Após o ciclo de Alisson nas Copas de 2018 e 2022, o ex-jogador apoia que outros goleiros tenham oportunidade no Mundial de 2026. Neste cenário, Hugo Souza, Weverton e Léo Jardim, destaques do Brasileirão Série A, são vistos como capazes de assumir o posto.
“Essa hegemonia do Alisson tem que sair. Tem o Weverton, do Palmeiras, o Hugo, do Corinthians, o Léo Jardim, do Vasco… esses goleiros não devem nada para o Alisson!”, disse Muller, no podcast Tá no Jogo, da Gazeta Esportiva.
“Para mim, o momento do Alisson já passou. Fracassou em duas Copas, chega!”, acrescentou.
Muller não sugere “exclusão” de Ederson
Ao contrário de Alisson, Ederson é avaliado por Muller como útil para a seleção brasileira. Apesar disso, levando em conta outros goleiros de nível elevado, o comentarista evitou bancar que Ancelotti vai escalar, de maneira fixa, o jogador do Manchester City
“O goleiro do Manchester City é bom e é novo. Mas esses que eu citei e que jogam no futebol brasileiro, o Ancelotti vai ter oportunidade de ver com tranquilidade e avaliar. Eu acredito que alguns jogadores que jogam no Brasil serão convocados e terão chances.”, prosseguiu.

Em relação aos zagueiros da seleção, Muller sugere que três nomes sejam observados por Ancelotti. Segundo o ex-jogador, Léo Ortiz e Léo Pereira, do Flamengo, e Murilo, do Palmeiras, se encontram no patamar de Marquinhos e merecem uma oportunidade.
