2025 PGA Championship picks, odds, field: Surprising predictions by golf model that nailed 14 majors

Quail Hollow Club, a par-71 course in Charlotte, will host the 2025 PGA Championship after last hosting the major eight years ago. It was in 2017 that the PGA Championship had the highest average score to par (+2.47) per round of any tournament during the 2016-17 tour season. Just 10 players broke par, including Hideki Matsuyama, Patrick Reed, Rickie Fowler and the winner, Justin Thomas. Meanwhile, the likes of Phil Mickelson, Cam Smith and Xander Schauffele not only missed the cut, but they all shot at least 10-over-par. What can the PGA Championship 2025 field expect when play tees off Thursday? Scottie Scheffler and Rory McIlroy are the 5-1 co-favorites in the 2025 PGA Championship odds.

The final three holes at Quail Hollow are known as the Green Mile and may be the toughest stretch in all of golf. Who should you invest your 2025 PGA Championship bets on to survive the Green Mile? Before locking in any 2025 PGA Championship picks of your own, or entering any 2025 PGA Championship DFS picks and prop bets on sites like FanDuel, DraftKings, and PrizePicks, be sure to see the early golf predictions and projected leaderboard from the proven computer model at SportsLine.

SportsLine’s proprietary model, built by DFS pro Mike McClure, has been red-hot since the PGA Tour resumed in June 2020. In fact, the model is up nearly $9,000 on its best bets since the restart, nailing tournament after tournament.

This same model has also nailed a whopping 14 majors entering the weekend, including the 2025 Masters (its fourth Masters in a row) and last year’s PGA Championship and U.S. Open. Anyone who has followed its sports betting picks could have seen massive returns on betting apps like FanDuelDraftKings and Fanatics.

Now that the 2025 PGA Championship field is taking shape and fans are figuring out how to bet the PGA Championship, SportsLine simulated the tournament 10,000 times, and the results were surprising. Head to SportsLine now to see the projected leaderboard and check out the latest PGA Championship betting apps.

2025 PGA Championship predictions

One major surprise the model is calling for at the PGA Championship 2025: Xander Schauffele, the defending champion and a two-time major winner, stumbles and barely cracks the top 10. Schauffele has racked up nine career wins on the PGA Tour and has made the cut in 62 consecutive tournaments the longest such streak since Tiger Woods’ historic run (142 straight) from 1998 to 2005.

However, Schauffele has recorded just one top-10 finish this season after dealing with rib injury earlier in the year. The 31-year-old has struggled mightily with a putter in his hands, ranking 142nd in putting average (1.772), 156th in one-putt percentage (38.19%) and 161st in strokes gained: putting (-0.475). He’s also been ineffective off the tee, ranking 148th in total driving (228) and 162nd in strokes gained: off the tee (-0.439). He’s not a strong pick to win it all, and there are far better values in the 2025 PGA Championship field.

Another surprise: Tyrell Hatton, a 50-1 longshot, makes a strong run at the title. He’s a target for anyone looking for a huge payday. Hatton had a solid showing at the year’s first major, finishing 14th at the Masters. That was the start of three straight top 15s at worldwide tournaments for the Englishman, so he’s entering the PGA Championship with momentum. Hatton, however, hasn’t just finished near the top of the leaderboard, as he’s finished at the very top in recent months, as he has three event victories since June 2024, including a European Tour win earlier this year.

Hatton has also notched top 15 finishes in two of his last three PGA Championship starts. He brings an impressive course history into the year’s second major, having last played at Quail Hollow Club in May 2023. At the Wells Fargo Championship at that course, he finished third, shooting under par in each round. There are lots of things to like about Hatton, which makes him very attractive with golf bets, considering he isn’t even among the 15 players with the shortest PGA Championship odds.See who else to pick here

The model is also targeting three other golfers with odds longer than 20-1 who will make a strong run at the title. Anyone who backs these longshots could hit it big. You can only see the model’s picks here.

Pittsburgh Steelers Week 13 Preview: A Herd of Buffalo

The Pittsburgh Steelers 2025 season has six games remaining and three of those will be played in Pittsburgh while the other half of the games has Pittsburgh taking to the road. It begins in week 13 of the season with the Buffalo Bills coming to Acrisure Stadium. This game should take the form of a playoff matchup for both teams, as Pittsburgh and Buffalo are not just fighting for a shot at the postseason but possibly winning their respective divisions. Which team is a victory more important for? Certainly, that question should be geared more towards the Steelers. Currently tied with the Baltimore Ravens for first place, Pittsburgh has an extremely crucial game in Baltimore following the Bills game. Buffalo finds themselves two full games behind the red hot first place New England Patriots and how New England has been […]

Sherrone Moore Takes Blame For Michigan’s Blowout Loss: ‘I’ll Put It On Me’

Michigan head coach Sherrone Moore took full responsibility for the Wolverines' 27-9 loss to No. 1 Ohio State on Saturday."I'll put it on me," Moore said. "Always put stuff on me. It's got to be better."Coming into the game, No. 15 Michigan had a shot at earning a spot in the College Football Playoff and the Big Ten Championship with a win. After the result, the Wolverines will likely miss out on both. Moore feels bad for the players, especially the seniors, because of the work they put in. It just didn't show on the field Saturday, as the Wolverines failed to score a touchdown and only threw for 63 yards. "It stings. You sting for the seniors. You sting for the program," he said. "When you're in this for 24/7. When you're in this for 365, it hurts. And you […]

Gavazi entered the ring as an unknown quantity, but Whittaker immediately exposed the gulf in class with ruthless and devastating precision. Whittaker's fast hands unleashed a flurry of shots that sent Gavazi crashing to the canvas. When he rose to his feet, he was emphatically dispatched by a huge overhand right. The victory marked Whittaker's statement debut under Matchroom Boxing, secured in spectacular fashion. ‘Man Utd are soft defending our box’ – Amorim explains recent frustrations

Ruben Amorim says Manchester United are "soft" defending their own box, adding that there is little time afforded at the club to find consistency and wins so they must happen now.At the City Ground on November 1, Man Utd conceded twice in two minutes at the start of the second half. They went on to draw 2-2, the same result they had against Tottenham the following week. And against Everton on Monday Night Football, David Moyes' side scored with their only shot on target to beat Man Utd 1-0. This season, Amorim's side have scored and conceded the same amount of goals - 19 each - and the head coach has criticised his team's defensive play.Speaking ahead of Sunday's Premier League game against Crystal Palace, he said: "We have some results of not letting a lot of teams in the […]

Frank slams Spurs boos for Vicario: ‘They can’t be true fans, it’s unacceptable’

Thomas Frank called Tottenham fans who booed Guglielmo Vicario during their 2-1 defeat to Fulham as "not true fans" and deemed it "unacceptable".Vicario was booed by his own supporters after his howler in a shambolic opening half against Fulham in which Spurs conceded twice in the first six minutes, with a second-half revival not enough to avoid a 2-1 defeat. Already trailing from Kenny Tete's third-minute deflected opener, a moment of madness from the Italian goalkeeper less than three minutes later gifted possession to Harry Wilson after running some 25 yards off his line, and the Fulham midfielder punished his poor clearance with a stunning strike into the unguarded net. Frank said: "I didn't like that our fans booed at him [Vicario] straight after and a few times he touched the ball. They can't be true Tottenham fans because everyone […]
