Ceni é técnico do Bahia – Divulgação
Rogério Ceni não joga a toalha e promete muita luta por classificação do Bahia na Libertadores. Em entrevista coletiva, o treinador lamentou os resultados negativos, mas lembrou que a sequência foi indigesta contra equipes de alta qualidade no Brasil.
Depois de encaminhar sua vaga nas oitavas de final, o Esquadrão foi surpreendido com duas derrotas e vai, na última rodada, tentar evitar a eliminação.
“Os adversários competem, são duros. Nossa chave não tem um jogo razoável, mais ou menos. Nos últimos jogos que nós enfrentamos de Campeonato Brasileiro foram os melhores times praticamente. Palmeiras, Flamengo, Botafogo, enfim, são todos que as equipes exigem muito de você”, disse Ceni.
“Infelizmente, você não joga com a segurança de você vencer, não tem uma sobra de equipe para que você diga que é favorito. A gente entra tentando competir ao máximo, é o que tentamos fazer”, completou.
Com nove pontos, o Atlético Nacional assumiu a liderança do grupo F, seguido do Bahia com sete. Hoje, o Internacional visita o Nacional, em Montevidéu.
Ceni lamenta revés em casa
Na semana passada, o Bahia chegou a sair na frente do Nacional, mas um apagão resultou na virada do time uruguaio, embolando a chave e deixando tudo em aberto. Agora tudo deve ficar para o duelo com o Inter, em Porto Alegre.
“Precisamos ser competitivos e tentar fazer o gol. Temos chances, possibilidade, vamos até o último. Bahia não desistiu em 2023, não desistiu em 2024. Muitas bolas passaram à frente do gol do Nacional, mas não conseguimos botar essa bola para dentro”, detalhou Ceni.
Próximo jogo
O Bahia volta a campo no próximo domingo (18), às 16h (de Brasília), na Arena Fonte Nova, pela nona rodada do Campeonato Brasileiro. Com 12 pontos conquistados, o Tricolor é o oitavo colocado na tabela.
