Com o anúncio da eleição na CBF para o próximo dia 25, o vencedor já receberá Carlo Ancelotti, no dia seguinte, como presidente da entidade. O interventor Fernando Sarney definiu o calendário da assembleia eleitoral e definiu que a posse ocorrerá imediatamente após o pleito.
O mandato terá validade de 25 de maio de 2025 até 24 de maio de 2029. Além do presidente, a eleição definirá os oito novos vices, três membros efetivos e três suplentes do Conselho Fiscal da CBF.
A assembleia terá início às 10h30, na sede da CBF, caso estejam presentes metade mais um do colégio eleitoral da entidade. Em caso negativo, haverá uma segunda chamada, às 11h30. Esta sim irá começar mediante qualquer forum.
Participam da votação os presidentes das 27 federações estaduais e representantes dos 40 clubes das Séries A e B. O voto dos primeiros têm peso 3. Já as agremiações da primeira divisão têm peso 2. Por fim, os da Segundona votam com peso 1.
A chegada de Ancelotti está marcada para o dia 26 de maio. No mesmo dia, ele fará o anúncio da lista dos 23 convocados para os jogos contra Equador (5 de junho) e Paraguai (10 de junho), pelas Eliminatórias da Copa. Nesta ocasião, ele estará ao lado do novo presidente.

- 17/05/2025 – Publicação do 1º Edital e Regulamento Eleitoral
- 18/05/2025 a 20/05/2025 – Prazo de Registro de Chapa
- 25/05/2025 – Assembleia Geral Eleitoral
A eleição irá definir o sucessor de Ednaldo Rodrigues, afastado por decisão do Tribunal de Justiça do Rio. O cartola entrou com recurso no Supremo Tribunal Federal (STF) e aguarda decisão do ministro Gilmar Mendes. Nesta sexta, ele entrou com novo pedido para que a eleição seja suspensa.
