Rio e Niterói apresentam nos EUA projeto para sediar o Pan de 2031

Uma comitiva de Rio de Janeiro e Niterói apresentou nesta sexta-feira, em Miami, nos Estados Unidos, o projeto das duas cidades para sediar os Jogos Pan-Americanos de 2031. A reunião foi fechada e feita ao Comitê Executivo da Panam Sports. A candidatura conjunta das cidades concorre com Assunção, no Paraguai. O anúncio oficial de quem sediará os jogos deve ser feito até outubro.

Quem foi escalado por Eduardo Paes para ser o principal articulador para que Rio-Niterói vença a disputa é o secretário municipal de esportes do Rio de Janeiro, Guilherme Schleder. Ele representa o Rio ao lado do vice-prefeito Eduardo Cavaliere. Isabel Swan, vice-prefeita de Niterói; e o presidente do Comitê Olímpico do Brasil, Marco La Porta, também integram a comitiva.

Schleder mantém contato diário com as federações do Brasil, que ajudaram a construir a candidatura. Ele também viajará para os países das Américas para vender a candidaturas e se aproximar do colégio eleitoral.
