‘Queimar etapas’
CEO santista, Pedro Martins participou na Universidade Mackenzie, nesta sexta-feira (16) em São Paulo, de uma palestra sobre assuntos ligados a gestão esportiva. No encontro, o dirigente do Peixe justificou as decisões tomadas pela diretoria santista como uma forma de, em suas palavras, ‘queimar etapas’ no planejamento da temporada. Isto motivado pelo desejo da diretoria santista de buscar a vaga em copas continentais para 2026.
“Todas as decisões foram pensadas em tentar queimar algumas etapas. Por exemplo, no Cruzeiro, a gente não fez isso. No nosso primeiro ano na Série A, o nosso título seria permanecer, com orçamento bem menor. O (então dono da SAF cruzeirense) Ronaldo chegou uma vez e disse ‘Não vou colocar mais dinheiro. O nosso título vai ser ficar na Série A e, quem sabe, ir para a Sul Americana’” disse Martins segundo o GE
“Essa diretriz é do dono ou do presidente. Dentro dessa diretriz, montamos um time enxuto, com custo zero. O Cruzeiro não contratou quase ninguém e conseguimos bater a meta. No Santos, a diretriz da diretoria é outras. Queira queimar etapas para não só ter que brigar para não cair. Mas já vai voltar para a uma competição sul-americana, brigar na parte de cima da tabela. O projeto está caminhando, está oscilando demais, mas, para o elenco que temos, não vamos ficar brigando na segunda parte da tabela”, completou o CEO.
Neymar ‘não fará milagres’
E o projeto da diretoria santista inclui como sua principal peça Neymar. O camisa 10 foi citado durante a palestra de Pedro Martins como parte essencial do projeto, mas o dirigente afirmou que o ídolo ‘não fará milagres’ e que não apenas ele será quem fará o time retomar o caminho dos títulos de impacto.
“A gente, às vezes, espera que o Neymar faça milagre. Ele não vai fazer milagre. Ele é um enorme jogador, um gênio, só que ele não vai levantar um prédio inteiro ali. O Santos precisa confrontar sua realidade ára conseguir ser competitivo. Caso contrário, vai ficar muito longe”, comentou.
