Ao mesmo tempo, deixa no ar algumas dúvidas sobre a condição do centroavante, que retornou aos campos em abril após sete meses afastado com grave lesão no joelho.
Pedro ainda está em fase de recondicionamento físico e a expectativa é que chegue 100% ao Mundial de Clubes, que começa em um mês. O jogador já tem quatro gols e uma assistência em nove jogos, mas passou em branco nos últimos quatro. Nas partidas diante de Bahia (Brasileirão), e LDU, Filipe optou por colocá-lo em campo apenas no segundo tempo.
— O Pedro está liberado para jogar, mas não existe mágica. Jogar a cada três dias e estar no nível dos companheiros é outra história. O Pedro não está no nível dos companheiros fisicamente. Estou desejando que chegue na forma física ideal para jogar no modelo de jogo que peço. Preciso de todo mundo 100% e o Pedro não está 100% fisicamente, a gente nota — afirmou Filipe Luís na coletiva de quinta.
O modelo de jogo praticado exige alta rotação e marcação pressão, o que o leva a seguir escalando Gerson na ponta direita e apostando em nomes como Michael, capaz de correr dobrado na frente, por mais que seja criticado.
Jogos encavalados
Em dois dos piores jogos do Flamengo sob seu comando, contra Cruzeiro (Brasileirão) e Central Córdoba (Libertadores), Pedro foi titular e isso coincidiu com a oscilação física da equipe.
Arrascaeta também vem sendo titular e, após anos sofrendo com lesões, faz uma temporada em que apresenta ótima condição física.
— Eles podem jogar juntos (Pedro e Arrascaeta), como em 2022 — lembrou Filipe. — Mas temos que ver como o Arrascaeta está correndo, na melhor forma que vi nos últimos cinco ou seis anos. O Pedro precisa chegar nessa forma. Quando chegar no seu 100%, vai dar o que a equipe precisa — disse o técnico.
O mês de maio não está sendo fácil para o Flamengo, com vários jogos importantes encavalados. Nos próximos dois domingos, a equipe faz clássico com o Botafogo e visita o Palmeiras, ambos pelo Brasileirão. Mais uma vez, Filipe Luís viverá o dilema da titularidade de Pedro.
Em partidas nas quais é necessário menos pressão, como contra Juventude e Corinthians, Pedro vê o cenário ideal para seu atual momento físico. Foi contra estes adversários que ele participou de gols até agora. Já quando se precisa de mais velocidade, há o contraponto de usar jogadores que não vivem fase artilheira, como Bruno Henrique, Michael Everton Cebolinha e Juninho.
A LDU parecia ser um bom adversário para Pedro, mas Filipe Luís inverteu a lógica. Por sorte, Luiz Araújo correspondeu, enquanto o time dominou toda a partida. Cada jogo a partir de agora deve gerar novas decisões para que o desempenho não volte a oscilar. Amanhã, às 18h30, contra o alvinegro, o centroavante deve iniciar novamente no banco do Maracanã.
