Zimní naděje vzala nemoc. Teď český rekordman spřádá plány na odplatu

V halové sezoně Juškova forma gradovala, skončil šestý na halovém mistrovství Evropy a chystal se na světový šampionát pod střechou. Jenže plány mu zhatila chřipka. „Zničehonic přišly teploty a kašel. Mrzelo mě to, v té formě, co jsem měl, nějaká naděje byla, mohlo to dopadnout dobře,“ litoval.

„Na druhou stranu kluci naskákali hodně dobře,“ připomíná, že na medaili bylo v čínském Nan-ťingu třeba skočit 828 cm. „Já si aspoň dopřál tři týdny volno, odpočinul si a nabral síly,“ popisuje.

Ani následnou přípravu na letní sezonu neabsolvoval v ideálním zdravotním stavu. „Nějaké bolístky byly, při soustředění na Kanárských ostrovech jsem byl zahleněný, proto teď čekáme na výsledky krevních testů. Ale normálně trénuju s cílem vygradovat formu hlavně v září na mistrovství světa,“ popisuje Juška.

Sezonu by mohl zahájit příští sobotu na mítinku v Záhřebu, pak už v jeho závodním plánu figuruje Odložilův memoriál. Mítink, kde se mu tradičně dařilo, třikrát ne něm překonal hranici osmi metrů. „Však je to jeden z nejlepších sektorů v republice,“ připomíná Juška, jenž se spolu se skupinou kouče Josefa Karase na Julisku přesunul na podzim z Olympu.

Jen poslední dva roky mu mítink nevyšel ideálně, a tak je právě Odložilův memoriál jediným místem, kde svého zkušeného kolegu porazil o třináct let mladší Meindlschmid.

„Každý závod je příležitostí k odvetě. Péťa je nadějný dálkař, snad to po mně jednou převezme. Ale nechci dát žádný závod zadarmo,“ říká Juška odhodlaně. Mladík byl vloni sedmý na mistrovství Evropy v Římě, ale v zimě neskákal kvůli únavové zlomenině. „Nejsme v kontaktu, ale snad mu daří a bude v plné síle,“ věří Juška.

Nejlepším osobním rekordem v předběžné startovní listině se ale pyšní Jamajčan Carey McLeod, medailista z loňského halového mistrovství světa. I tomu má Juška co vracet, zatím je vzájemná bilance 2:3 v jeho neprospěch.

Dálka tak bude jedním z vrcholů 32. ročníku mítinku, byť rekord závodu se třást zřejmě nebude. Ten už drží 28 let skvělým výkonem 860 cm Ivan Pedroso.

Juška by se v sezoně rád aspoň přiblížil ostrému limitu pro zářijové mistrovství světa v Tokiu, který má hodnotu 827 cm, byť cesta vede i přes světový ranking, kde mu patří vcelku komfortní 17. místo.

„Věřím každý rok, že padne i ostrý limit, ale ty se pořád zvyšují. Sice mám v rankingu dobrou pozici, ale chtěl bych si to pojistit ne na 99 procent, ale na sto,“ říká muž, jenž se před deseti lety stal halovým vicemistrem světa.

Jeho tréninková skupina se v posledních letech opět rozrostla, na halovém mistrovství republiky byl za Juškou stříbrný parťák Luka Čurkovič, k juniorskému desetibojařskému mistru světa Tomasi Järvinenovi přišel ze skupiny Romana Šebrleho i Vilém Stráský…

„Má to svá pro i proti. Když se věnujeme technice dálky, mám radši klid. Jakmile je nás tam pět šest, tak z toho kvetu,“ usmívá se Juška. „Na druhou stranu si všichni sedíme, i když jsou kluci o dost mladší než já,“ dodává.
