Brooklyn Beckham marked the one-year anniversary of Nicola Peltz‘s grandmother’s passing with a touching Instagram tribute that underscored just how close he has become with his wife’s family – and how distant he now appears from his own.
“Can’t believe it’s been a year without you naunni x you were always so happy and always made me laugh. I miss you and will love you forever x,” Brooklyn wrote alongside two affectionate photos of him embracing the late matriarch.
“It makes me so sad to think of our future kids not being able to know you x you were one of a kind and we miss you every day.”
The heartfelt post highlighted not only Brooklyn‘s emotional connection to the Peltz family, but also the growing divide between him and the Beckhams, as his relationship with his parents – David and Victoria Beckham – continues to show visible signs of strain.

A growing gap between Brooklyn and the Beckham legacy
Speculation around Brooklyn‘s apparent estrangement from his family reignited earlier this year when he and Nicola failed to attend David Beckham‘s 50th birthday celebrations – not once, but twice.
According to reports, the couple skipped both a lavish Miami party in March and another major gathering in the UK, raising eyebrows and concerns among fans.
Sources close to the family told Page Six that the rift dates back to Brooklyn and Nicola‘s extravagant Palm Beach wedding in April 2022. Tension reportedly began when Nicola opted not to wear a gown designed by her mother-in-law Victoria, despite original plans to do so.
The fallout was further complicated when Nicola’s father, Nelson Peltz, filed a lawsuit against the wedding planners, claiming they failed to meet the demands of the high-profile event.
In response, the planners counter-sued, alleging that Nicola and her mother tried to keep the planning chaos a secret from the Beckham side of the guest list.
Since then, public appearances with the Beckham family have been rare. Brooklyn and Nicola haven’t been photographed with David, Victoria, or Brooklyn‘s siblings in months – not even during the 2024 holiday season.
“In some ways, this is no surprise,” a source told Page Six. “But I guess no one could believe they would actually snub David’s 50th when there were so many events they could have gone to, or ways to spend time with the family.”
The source added, “David and Victoria always turn up for Brooklyn and Nicola – whether it’s the launch of his hot sauce brand or her movie premiere. This is just very sad.”
Still, the Beckhams reportedly maintain their unconditional love for Brooklyn, even as they grow weary of the drama.
“They adore Brooklyn and will always be there for him. But they just can’t deal with this nonsense anymore,” the insider said. “David and Victoria just want Brooklyn to remember who he is because this behavior isn’t him and isn’t how he was raised.”
Despite the tension, Brooklyn continues to publicly embrace his role in the Peltz family – celebrating milestones, honoring loved ones, and sharing personal memories with Nicola’s relatives. As he grows deeper into the Peltz orbit, his ties to his famous lineage seem to grow increasingly faint.
