„Začali jsme zápas dobře. Díky Tomáši Součkovi a Vladimíru Coufalovi jsme měli velmi dobrou šanci,“ připomněl trenér Graham Potter velkou příležitost už ze druhé minuty.
Hammers ale záhy inkasovaly, ve druhé polovině znovu a dvougólové manko už v zápase, který se s nastavením protáhl na víc než sto minut, nedohnaly.

„Je to hrozně frustrující, když chcete poslední domácí zápas sezony vyhrát. Zvlášť když někteří hráči oblékli náš dres naposledy,“ litoval kouč West Hamu.
Coufal za sebou nechává v klubu výraznou stopu. S Hammers vyhrál Konferenční ligu, odehrál 179 zápasů a připsal si 20 asistencí. Nejen produktivitou, ale hlavně nasazením a srdcem si získal respekt i přízeň fanoušků.
„Když jsem přišel před pěti lety, nevěděl jsem co čekat. Ale upřímně – užil jsem si každou minutu v dresu West Hamu. Vždycky jsem se snažil klub reprezentovat co nejlépe, na hřišti i mimo něj,“ prohlásil ve svém rozlučkovém projevu.
Už na začátku května klub oznámil, že Coufalovi neprodlouží smlouvu. Zápas s Nottinghamem se tak stal jeho posledním před domácími fanoušky. A sám hráč to nesl velmi emotivně.
„Navždy budu fanouškem tohoto klubu. Vrátím se na London Stadium fandit. Teď ale nastal čas posunout se dál. Čas na novou kapitolu. Budu foukat bubliny, dokud nezemřu,“ dodal se slzami v očích.
Z klubu ale neodchází sám. Vedle něj končí také brankář Lukasz Fabianski, obránce Aaron Cresswell a útočník Danny Ings.

Kam povedou Coufalovy další kroky?
To zatím zůstává otázkou. V zimě se o něj zajímal Fulham, vyloučit se ale nedá ani další angažmá v Premier League. Ve hře může být například Everton, který aktuálně vede David Moyes – muž, jenž Coufala do Anglie před pěti lety přivedl ze Slavie.
