Trenére, jak utkání s Němci hodnotíte?
I když výsledek vypadá jednoznačně, jednoduché to vůbec nebylo. Měli jsme i štěstí. Soupeř dal dvě tyčky a měli jsme pár momentů, kdy jsme ztráceli puky ve středním pásmu a oni z toho chodili do protiútoků. Chtěli jsme se toho vyvarovat, ale ne vždy se nám to dařilo. Kvalitní zápas i soupeř a jsme rádi, že jsme ho zvládli.
Byly klíčovým momentem góly Sedláka na 2:0 a Fleka na 3:0, kterými jste otupili německý nápor ve druhé třetině?
Je pravda, že tam nás Němci zatlačili. Byli silní na puku u nás v pásmu, bránili jsme se, ale i o tom to je. Velké hřiště je složité, když jsou hráči šikovní. A Němci šikovné hráče mají, proto jsme se dostávali pod tlak. Zvládli jsme to, gólman (Vladař) dnes výborný, podržel nás. Pak jsme odskočili, už se to uklidnilo. Byl to hezký zápas.

Kromě prvního útoku jste proházel složení zbylých tří. Martin Nečas nastoupil na centru, je to varianta i pro další zápasy?
Na to si počkáme. Jeden zápas už jsme takhle zvládli, v úterý máme před sebou další. Zároveň ale pracujeme s tím, abychom se trefili do sestavy na čtvrtfinále. To je pro nás klíčové. Teď máme prostor, abychom si leccos vyzkoušeli.
Budete tedy zkoušet i v úterý proti USA?
Úplně netvrdím, že budeme zkoušet nějak hodně. Když něco bude fungovat, budeme tomu věřit. Samozřejmě chceme uspět, ale máme na to prostor. I ve třetí třetině jsme to trochu měnili a nemyslím si, že by to byl špatný krok. Byli jsme v ní daleko lepší než v té druhé.
MS v hokeji 2025
88. ročník mistrovství světa v hokeji je na programu v termínu od 9. do 25. května 2025. Hostí jej Švédsko a Dánsko, konkrétně města Stockholm a Herning.
Pro třetí třetinu jste k sobě třeba dal Nečase s Flekem a Beránkem.
Je to jedna z varianta, kterou jsme udělali. Vyhodnotíme si to a uvidíme. S Nečim jsme pozici centra neřešili, prostě jsme ho na něj dali. Kluci jsou na to z Ameriky zvyklí, to je výhoda, nejsou rozmazlený. Ne, že by ti z Evropy byli, ale v NHL kam je trenéři postaví, tam hrajou.
Máte radost, že poprvé na turnaji jste vyhrál bez inkasovaného gólu?
Ta nula je hlavně pro gólmana Vladaře. Vychytat ji v takovém zápase na mistrovství světa je skvělé hlavně jeho sebevědomí. Myslím si ale, že hráči neřeší, jestli to skončí 5:0, nebo 5:1.

Po třízápasové pauze způsobené zraněním se do sestavy vrátil obránce Kundrátek, po dvou vynechaných duelech i útočník Lauko. Přestože hrál s košíkem, nebál se kvůli poraněné dolní čelisti chodit do soubojů?
Důležité je, že zápas dohrál a neobnovilo se mu zranění. V úterý bude určitě lepší než dneska. I přes to, že dal Němcům branku.
