Mit dem 33:27 gegen die HSG Wetzlar hat die MT Melsungen ihre Position im Meisterkampf gefestigt. Bei den Personalplanungen sind die Nordhessen ebenfalls einige Schritte vorangekommen.

Handball-Herbstmeister holt zwei Neue
SPORT BILD hatte über die Kader-Ideen der Melsunger bereits berichtet, jetzt könnten sie zeitnah vom Tabellenzweiten offiziell bestätigt werden. Die MT wird die Lücke im Tor schließen und ein hoffnungsvolles Talent aus Island holen.
Der Ungar Laszlo Bartusz (33) wird als Ersatz für den lange ausfallenden Star-Keeper Nebojsa Simic (32) kommen. Simic hatte sich das Kreuzband im linken Knie gerissen, vor Februar 2026 wird der Montenegriner nicht zurückkehren.
Bartusz kommt vom ungarischen Erstligisten Tatabanya KC und soll für eine Spielzeit unterschreiben. Damit steht auch fest, dass Melsungen mit einem ungarischen Torwart-Duo in die Spielzeit 2025/26 gehen wird. Bereits im Winter wurde der Transfer von Kristof Palasics (23) eingetütet, er kommt vom ungarischen Top-Klub One Veszprem KC.
Im Werben um ein europäisches Top-Talent haben die Melsunger auch das Rennen gemacht. Es geht um den erst 19-jährigen Rückraumspieler Reynir Thor Stefansson von Fram Reykjavik. Nach Informationen von SPORT BILD ist mit dem Rechtshänder alles klar, er soll bei den Nordhessen einen Vertrag bis mindestens 2028 unterschreiben.

Die verletzungsgeplagte MT ist rechtzeitig in Topform, in den kommenden neun Tagen stehen weitere Saison-Höhepunkte an.
Samstag (15 Uhr, live bei Dyn/Anzeige) müssen die Melsunger im Halbfinale der European League in Hamburg gegen die SG Flensburg-Handewitt ran, das zweite Halbfinale bestreiten der THW Kiel und Montpellier Handball (Frankreich).
Am 29. Mai (20 Uhr, live bei Dyn) kommt es zum wahrscheinlichen Titel-Showdown bei den Berliner Füchsen.
