Der Trainer des FC Barcelona machte am Sonntag nach dem 2:3 gegen Villarreal (erste Niederlage in La Liga in diesem Jahr) klar: „Ich will mehr Titel. Unser Ziel ist es, uns zu verbessern und weiterzuentwickeln. Ich fühle mich hier sehr wohl.“
[–>Das beweist auch die Statistik: Erst im vergangenen Jahr übernahm der ehemalige Bundestrainer die Barça-Stars. 59 Mal stand er seitdem an der Seitenlinie, 43 Spiele konnte sein Team gewinnen. In der Liga machten sie bereits in der vergangenen Woche die Meisterschaft klar, die Copa del Rey gewannen sie (3:2 gegen Real), in der Champions League schafften sie es erstmals seit 2019 bis in Halbfinale.
Flick: „Wir haben das Potenzial der Mannschaft erkannt, und die Spieler haben sich schnell an meinen Fußballstil angepasst. Sie waren sowohl fußballerisch als auch menschlich professionell. Mit dem Ball waren sie unglaublich gut und wussten, wie sie sich positionieren müssen. Mit Selbstvertrauen ist alles möglich.“

Außerdem erklärt er: „Sie (seine Spieler; d.Red.) haben einen unglaublichen Job gemacht.“
Lob gibt’s außerdem für die Fans. Flick: „Die ganze Saison über habe ich die Verbundenheit zwischen den Fans und meinen Spielern gespürt. Unsere Spiele, unsere Siege und unsere Leistung haben diesen Zusammenhalt gestärkt, der auch auswärts deutlich wurde.“

Flicks Vertrag beim Meister läuft noch bis 2026. Eine vorzeitige Verlängerung ist zwar noch nicht verkündet, aber so gut wie durch.
