Karle, jak moc porážka mrzí?
Samozřejmě hodně. Chtěli jsme vyhrát, bohužel se to nepovedlo. Byli jsme o něco pomalejší, všude o krok později. Hráli hodně oslabení, to je velký faktor toho, že jsme to nezvládli.
Čekal jste tolik zákroků?
Určitě jsem nečekal, že jich bude přes padesát. Moje práce je jich udělat co nejvíc a pomoct klukům. Dát jim šanci na vítězství, což se dneska nepovedlo. Mrzí mě to.
Nepřipadal jste si jako v NHL?
Tolik zákroků jsem snad ještě ani v NHL neměl, v reprezentaci určitě ne. Rozhodně to byl jeden z nejtěžších zápasů, které jsem chytal. Teď už musíme hrát s každým co nejlépe a porazit ideálně všechny, pokud chceme mít medaili.
Jak se poučit z chyb?
Musíme v tom hledat pozitiva, musíme se dívat dopředu, rozebrat si to a vyvarovat se těch vyloučení. I když rozhodčí samozřejmě nepředvedli nejlepší výkon jako každý zápas tady. To je bohužel jedno z negativ celého mistrovství. S tím se musíme nějak vypořádat a neudělat ideálně žádný faul.
Jaké to bylo, když diváci skandovali vaše jméno?
Slyšel jsem to. Za to fanouškům patří velký dík. Byli super! Vážím si toho, snažil jsem se neodvádět pozornost od toho, co se děje na ledě, ale určitě to bylo příjemné.
MS v hokeji 2025
88. ročník mistrovství světa v hokeji je na programu v termínu od 9. do 25. května 2025. Hostí jej Švédsko a Dánsko, konkrétně města Stockholm a Herning.
