Depois do triunfo no clássico contra o Vitória, o Bahia tem mais um desafio importante na temporada, desta feita pela Copa do Brasil. Nesta quarta-feira (21), às 19h30 (de Brasília), a equipe encara o Paysandu, na Arena Fonte Nova, em briga valendo vaga nas oitavas de final do torneio.
Para o duelo, o técnico Rogério Ceni não terá quatro peças por conta de problemas físicos. Rezende, Kanu e Ademir estão entregues ao departamento médico, enquanto Santiago Arias se encontra na transição física, podendo voltar brevemente.
Com a situação encaminhada para classificação, o Esquadrão deve ter algumas mudanças no time, com diversos reservas podendo ganhar minutagem, ao passo que os principais jogadores descansam.
A provável escalação do Bahia tem: Marcos Felipe; Erick, Gabriel Xavier, Ramos Mingo e Iago Borduchi; Acevedo, Jean Lucas e Michel Araujo (Rodrigo Nestor); Kayky, Tiago e Willian José.
Do lado do Paysandu, os problemas com jogadores lesionados também são intensos. O técnico Luizinho Lopes não terá os defensores Joaquín Novillo e Kevyn, além dos volantes Dudu Vieira e Ramon Martínez e os atacantes Benjamín Borasi, Pedro Delvalle, Marlon e Edinho não estão disponíveis.
A provável escalação do Papão tem: Matheus Nogueira; Edilson, Luan Freitas, Maurício Antônio e PK; Leandro Vilela, André Lima e Matheus Vargas; Rossi, Benítez e Nicolas.

Além da classificação às oitavas, o duelo Bahia x Paysandu vale altas cifras para os cofres de quem avançar. Se confirmar o passaporte à próxima fase, o Esquadrão embolsa mais R$ 3,63 milhões em cotas distribuídas pela CBF.
O montante se junta aos R$ 2,3 milhões que o time nordestino ganhou somente pelo fato de participar do torneio, entrando na terceira fase.
