Tigres leading Champions Cup striker Ana Dias briefly played for the Thorns, making 10 appearances in the 2024 regular season before her transfer to Liga MX Femenil. Dias notched four goals and two assists in the Group A staging, and Stephany Mayor added three goals of her own in group play. The whole squad has put up an impressive 18 scores in four tourney matches, though competition now stiffens for single elimination. Tigres enters Wednesday with three wins and one draw, a 4-4 marathon with fellow semifinalist Gotham FC. Should they take down Portland, Tigres will play the winner of Gotham and Club América, a match that will take place on the same pitch a few hours prior.
The Rose Crew sits fourth in the NWSL standings. Portland is unbeaten in its last five league matches and is coming off an impressive 4-1 win over Houston on Friday. USWNT midfielder and Thorns captain Sam Coffey has been with the Thorns since 2022, and Canadian national team captain Jessie Fleming transferred from Chelsea in 2024. The team’s Concacaf breakout in 2024 was Izzy D’aquila, with three goals and three assists in the group stage. She’s now with Malmö in Sweden.
Rising centerback Jayden Perry comes in with three goals across seven league starts. Last week, Portland extended her NWSL contract through the 2028 season. Goalkeeper Bella Bixby has allowed just two goals in her four latest starts.
