Co by na Švédy mohlo platit?
Takže vy chcete, abych tady prozradil něco, co si Švédové přeloží a připraví se na nás? Taktiku sdělovat nebudeme. Nejdřív ji sdělíme hráčům, ale určitě ji nebudeme říkat do médií. Myslím si, že každému, kdo sleduje hokej, musí být jasné, že mají 22 hráčů z NHL. Takže obrovská kvalita. S tím nic neuděláme, pokusíme se co nejlíp připravit a sehrát s nimi co nejvyrovnanější partii.
Může pomoct zkušenost z loňského domácího MS, kde jste Švédy v semifinále rozstříleli?
To je spíš otázka pro hráče. Ale ti, kteří loňské mistrovství absolvovali, si na to jistě vzpomenou. A vědí, že šance jsou.
Jenže loni hnala vyprodaná hala vás, teď budou stát fanoušci ze Švédy. Může se to ale otočit proti domácím, kdyby se jim tolik nedařilo?
Vůbec nedokážu posoudit, s tím úplně zkušenost nemám. Hrají doma, podporu mít budou. Bude bouřlivá atmosféra. Pro každého hráče je takový zápas, nechci říct svátek, ale opravdu se takové utkání k mistrovství světa hrozně moc hodí.

Už vás přebolelo zklamání z porážky s USA? Kdybyste vyhráli, šli byste ve čtvrtfinále na Rakušany…
S Amerikou jsme si to pokazili. Mohli jsme hrát s Rakouskem, kdybychom vyhráli skupinu. A prostě při vší úctě k Rakousku je podstatný rozdíl hrát čtvrtfinále s ním, nebo se Švédskem. Oželeli bychom i stěhování a radši bychom hráli s Rakušany.
Zvládne mužstvo hodit nepovedený duel s USA za hlavu?
Určitě. Jsou to zkušení hráči, mají něco odehráno. V tomhle bych problém neviděl. Uvidíme úplně jiný zápas než proti Americe.
MS v hokeji 2025
88. ročník mistrovství světa v hokeji je na programu v termínu od 9. do 25. května 2025. Hostí jej Švédsko a Dánsko, konkrétně města Stockholm a Herning.
Vím, že gólmana pro čtvrtfinále neprozradíte. Máte už ale o něm jasno?
Jste rád, že David Kämpf už je s týmem a připravený nastoupit?
Viděl jsem se s ním zatím tři minuty. Netřeba ho zkoušet, je to špičkový centr. Jsme rádi, že to takhle dopadlo a že nás pro čtvrtfinále doplní.
Už víte, kde bude hrát?
Rozhodovat můžou přesilovky. Švédové při vlastním oslabení na turnaji ještě neinkasovali.
Souvisí to s tím, že soupeři proti nim moc početních výhod nemají. Myslím, že v průměru ani ne dvě za zápas. A to je přesně ono. Vždycky je bonus, když si pomůžete přesilovkou. Ale já si myslím, že v zápase bude klíč jinde.
Švédové mají strašně silnou hru v útočném pásmu. 25 procent branek dali ze hry v zóně. Většinou to statisticky bývá tak, že po vstupu do pásma padají branky do 10 vteřin, ale Švédové to mají jinak. Když vás zamknou a začnou rozmotávat, jsou strašně silní na puku. Je jedno, kdo je bek, kdo útočník, všichni rotují. Soupeře prostě uvaří a pak skórují.
Teď jim navíc ještě přijel William Nylander, hvězda Toronta…
Naši taktickou přípravu to neovlivní. Soustředíme se hlavně na sebe. Můžeme si ale říkat cokoliv, ukáže to až samotný výkon.
Mohla by na Švédsko platit důrazná hra? Snažit se rozhodit jejich hvězdy?
No nevím… Na velkém hřišti je to těžké, všude to máte strašně daleko.
