Dyson Daniels, Draymond Green, Amen Thompson, Luguentz Dort and Evan Mobley were named to the NBA’s All-Defensive First Team on Thursday, the league announced.

It’s the ninth time in Green’s career that he’s received the honor.

While Green has nine appearances on the NBA All-Defensive team, this is the first time since the 2020-21 NBA season that he was named to the first team. His resurgence comes a year after Green failed to make the All-Defensive team after playing in just 55 games. Under NBA rules, players must appear in at least 65 games to be eligible to make the NBA All-Defensive team.

Mobley, last year’s NBA Defensive Player of the Award winner, was named to the NBA All-Defensive team for the second time in his career. He also achieved the honor during the 2022-23 NBA season.

It’s the first time Daniels, Dort and Thompson received All-Defensive team honors. Dort’s inclusion on that list should make Charles Barkley happy after he profanely criticized voters for not recognizing Dort’s defensive prowess sooner.

Toumani Camara, Rudy Gobert, Jaren Jackson Jr., Jalen Williams and Ivica Zubac were named to the second team, the league announced Thursday.

It marks the eighth time in his career Gobert has made the NBA’s All-Defensive team, but the first time he’s been named as a member of the second team.

Gobert’s previous seven selections came as a member of the first team. He’s won four Defensive Player of the Year awards due to his rebounding and shot-blocking ability.

Jackson finds himself in a similar situation. It’s the third time in his career he’s made the NBA All-Defensive team, but the first time he’s been elected to the second team. Jackson won the Defensive Player of the Year award in 2023.

Camara, Williams and Zubac are all first-time members of the NBA All-Defensive team.

The NBA also released full voting results for the All-Defensive teams. Evan Mobley led all vote getters in points. He was named to the first team on 99 of 100 ballots. Only one person placed Mobley on the second team.

Voters seemingly didn’t have a tough time choosing the first team. Thompson received the lowest number of first team votes among first-team members with 74. The next player in the voting, Zubac, received 29 first team votes.

MLB free agency rankings 2025-26: Is Red Sox’s Alex Bregman destined for big payday if career year continues?

April showers bring May free agency rankings updates.Enough said, you know the drill.Notes: Whenever you see a number, a slash and another number, that’s a reference to contract years and total earnings. For instance, the shorthand for Bryce Harper’s 11-year, $330 million deal would be “11/330.” Ages listed below are for the 2026 season.1. Kyle Tucker, Cubs OF, age 29 (April rank 1)Following a supersonic start to his Cubs tenure, Tucker has slightly cooled off over the past month. The underlying numbers indicate Tucker’s May swoon is just a small blip. He’s still the runaway top free agent for the upcoming class and a lot would have to happen for that to change. There has been no additional extension chatter over the past month between Tucker and the Cubs, increasing the already high likelihood he reaches free agency this winter.2. […]

Mauricio Pochettino sends clear message with latest USMNT roster: ‘What we want … is people desperate to perform’

USMNT head coach Mauricio Pochettino has a clear message for members of the national team's core: Get ready for a challenge. On Thursday, U.S. Soccer announced the USMNT roster for the final set of friendlies before the Concacaf Gold Cup. Like previous rosters, the squad includes a number of new names as Pochettino extends more opportunities to uncapped players.AdvertisementAdvertisementAdvertisementHowever, this roster is missing a unusually large number of big names: Christian Pulisic will be out after requesting time to rest. Other core players — like Antonee Robinson, Weston McKennie, Tim Weah and more — are also absent, due to a mixture of injuries, coach's decisions and the upcoming FIFA Club World Cup.Those excused absences or coach's decisions might seem reasonable enough. But then Pochettino seemed to clearly outline a hard reset on the USMNT's culture. In a press conference on Thursday, […]
