Xabi Alonso
Nach insgesamt 221 Spielen unter Carlo Ancelotti (65) trennen sich in diesem Sommer die Wege des Noch-Real-Trainers und Daniel Carvajal (33). Jetzt spricht der Verteidiger über den anstehenden Abschied – und Ancelottis Nachfolger.
Carvajal: „Mich macht der Abgang von Carlo sehr traurig. Ich habe viele Jahre mit ihm erlebt – in seiner ersten Amtszeit und in seiner zweiten. Wir haben mit ihm alles gewonnen, für mich ist er wie ein Fußball-Vater.“
[–>Und: „Ich spüre eine große Traurigkeit und hoffe, dass er am Samstag den Abschied bekommt, den er sich als erfolgreichster Trainer der Geschichte von Real Madrid verdient hat.“ Zwischen 2013 und 2015 trainierte der Italiener die Königlichen schon einmal, seit 2021 stand er wieder an der Seitenlinie. Im Sommer übernimmt er die Nationalmannschaft Brasiliens. Bei Real kommt für Ancelotti Xabi Alonso (43).
Der Spanier trainierte zuletzt Bayer Leverkusen – Carvajals Klub, bevor er 2013 zu den Real-Profis kam. Spannend: In den Saisons 13/14 und 14/15 spielten Alonso und Carvajal noch 33 Mal gemeinsam für Real (24 davon gewannen sie), jetzt wird Alonso sein Trainer. Der Verteidiger: „Ich hatte nicht die Gelegenheit, mit Xabi zu sprechen. Er kennt den Klub bestens, war hier Spieler und hat unser Wappen viele Jahre lang verteidigt.“

236 Mal stand er als Spieler für Real auf dem Platz, zusammen gewannen sie die Champions League, die spanische Meisterschaft und holten den Pokal.
Carvajal: „Er weiß, wie es ist, Spieler von Real Madrid zu sein und ich denke, das ist auch ein Vorteil, um als Trainer zu kommen.“
[–>Und: „Ob er erfolgreich sein wird, wird die Zeit zeigen. Aber er wird es sehr gut machen, er hat zwei fantastische Spielzeiten bei Bayer Leverkusen hinter sich.“
Wie oft Carvajal unter Alonso zum Einsatz kommt? Klar ist: In der aktuellen Saison spielte er in La Liga nur achtmal, insgesamt absolvierte er im vergangenen Jahr elf Pflichtspiele. Sein Vertrag läuft im Sommer 2026 aus.
