Die Spanier wollen mit Wojciech Szczęsny verlängern, der zögerte aber bisher. Jetzt hat sich der polnische Keeper zu seiner Zukunft geäußert – und macht dabei eine spannende Andeutung.
Warum er bisher nicht mit Barça gesprochen hat? „Ich wollte warten, bis wir diese Saison beendet haben, und die Frage einer Vertragsverlängerung erst dann ansprechen“, erklärte Szczęsny im Interview mit dem polnischen TV-Sender Eleven Sports.

Der Barça-Star erklärt: „Ich denke, wenn ich meinen Vertrag verlängere, dann mit der Absicht, dass wir in der nächsten Saison Qualität auf der Bank haben. Ich muss mich entscheiden, weil es eine neue Situation für mich ist, und ich kann es mental akzeptieren, Marc-André ter Stegen zu unterstützen und ihm zu helfen.“
Zudem wiederholte Szczęsny, dass seine Familie aber schlussendlich über einen neuen Vertrag entscheidet. „Eigentlich wird nicht die Frage, ob ich die Nummer 1 oder die Nummer 2 bin, darüber entscheiden, ob ich bleibe oder nicht, sondern meine familiäre Situation. Es wird eine gemeinsame Entscheidung sein, ob wir im sonnigen Marbella oder im sonnigen Barcelona leben wollen“, sagte er.
