Barcelona gewinnt 2:0 bei Stadtrivale Espanyol und feiert die verdiente Meisterschaft – nach zuletzt 18 Spielen ohne Niederlage in Serie.
Highlight des Spiels: das traumhaft schöne 1:0 vom Super-Teenager Lamine Yamal. Lowlight des Spiels: die Rote Karte für Espanyols Cabrera in der 80. Minute nach einer Tätlichkeit gegen Yamal.

Zwar gab er zu, dass Yamal bei der Szene, die zur Roten Karte führte, getroffen wurde, „aber nicht hart genug, dass er so umfallen muss.“ Und überhaupt: „Du pustest und sie gehen zu Boden“, kritisierte Gonzalez die Theatralik der Barça-Spieler.
Dabei war die Szene klar. Cabrera hatte Yamal in der 80. Minute in den Bauch geschlagen. Eine klare Tätlichkeit und damit auch ein klarer Platzverweis. Allerdings hatte der Europameister alles aus der Aktion herausgeholt und sich sehr theatralisch verhalten.
Kritik an Yamal, Lob für Flick!
Immerhin hatte Gonzalez viel Lob für seinen Gegenüber Hansi Flick (60) übrig. Der Deutsche gewinnt als erster deutscher Trainer mit dem FC Barcelona die Meisterschaft. Das war den Trainer-Ikonen Hennes Weisweiler (†63) und Udo Lattek (†80) nicht gelungen.
Gonzalez über Flick: „Er war ein absoluter Gentleman. Man muss niemanden provizieren, ich gratuliere ihm.“
Hintergrund: 2023 wurde Barcelona ebenfalls durch einen Sieg bei Espanyol Meister. Damals eskalierte die Situation und Espanyol-Fans stürmten den Platz. Flick unterbrach daher nach Abpfiff die Jubel-Arien auf dem Platz. Dafür ging die Party in der Kabine und der Stadt weiter.
Flick holte in seiner ersten Saison in Barcelona direkt das Double. In der Champions League scheiterte Barça im Halbfinale unglücklich an Inter Mailand.
