Svěřence Radima Rulíka čeká repríza loňského semifinále. Jenom se dvěma změnami – se Švédskem se Češi utkají o fázi dříve, tedy ve čtvrtfinále, a domácím týmem tentokrát budou tři korunky. Nabitý švédský tým s 22 hráči NHL požene plná Avicii Arena.
Češi se navíc museli do Stockholmu stěhovat ze skoro tisíc kilometrů vzdáleného Herningu. Jediná prohra v základní skupině (v zápase s USA) totiž odsunula národní tým až na třetí pozici ve skupině, a tím pádem jim přisoudila i těžšího soupeře do čtvrtfinále. Švédové mají na svém kontě také jednu prohru, když podlehli Kanadě.
MS v hokeji 2025
88. ročník mistrovství světa v hokeji je na programu v termínu od 9. do 25. května 2025. Hostí jej Švédsko a Dánsko, konkrétně města Stockholm a Herning.
Oba týmy hlásí na klíčový duel last minute posily, domácí tým doplnil William Nylander z Toronta, ze stejného klubu pak dorazil do českého mužstva i David Kämpf. Třicetiletý útočník posílí pozici centra, se kterou Radim Rulík celý turnaj bojuje. Kämpf by se měl podle očekávání představit v lajně s Martinem Nečasem, doplní je Jakub Flek. O gólmanovi v české brance bude jasno až hodinu před utkáním, trenéři nechtěli po ranním rozbruslení nic prozradit.

Na kontě má i týmové zlato (2013) a bronz (2017) z mistrovství světa.Fettner, který získal také stříbro a bronz v soutěži družstev na šampionátu v letech, dosud ve Světovém poháru nastoupil k 360 závodům. Jen pětkrát se však prosadil na stupně vítězů a jeho nejlepším individuálním výsledkem je jedno druhé místo.
