Basketbalisté Panathinaikosu triumf v Evropské lize neobhájí

Panathinaikos vyhrál předchozí čtyři vzájemné zápasy včetně loňského semifinále, ale tentokrát na Fenerbahce nestačil. Turecký tým měl už v první čtvrtině k dobru deset bodů a vedl prakticky celé utkání.

Nejlepším střelcem Fenerbahce byl s 18 body Devon Hall, který proměnil čtyři z šesti trojek. V dresu Panathinaikosu dal o čtyři body více Cedi Osman. O 19 bodů se postaral střelecký lídr soutěže Kendrick Nunn, i když netrefil ani jednu z pěti trojek.

Fenerbahce je ve finále po sedmi letech. V roce 2018 při obhajobě vítězství v soutěži podlehl turecký celek, mezi jehož opory tehdy patřil český pivot Jan Veselý, v zápase o titul Realu Madrid.

Do finále dovedl Fenerbahce litevský kouč Šarunas Jasikevičius, který jako hráč ovládl Evropskou ligu čtyřikrát. V neděli může přidat titul poprvé i v roli trenéra.
