Čtyřiadvacetiletý Šulc má za sebou dvě fantastické sezony. V té uplynulé vstřelil v lize 18 gólů, v té právě skončené se stal nejlepším a zároveň nejproduktivnějším hráčem (15 gólů, 9 asistencí). Proti Jablonci vystřihl parádní volej, po přestávce se prosadil zblízka hlavou. Pokud šlo o rozlučku, tak byla stylová.
„Hráči odcházejí a přicházejí. Samozřejmě, musíme potenciálně počítat se Šulcíkovým odchodem. Moc mu přejeme, aby šlo o angažmá kvalitní. Za ty poslední dva roky by si ho zasloužil. Ale nepředbíhejme, uvidíme,“ podotkl Koubek. „Nechci mluvit o konci jedné éry v Plzni. Zatím jsme se loučili jen s Caduem a Kalvim. Uvidíme, co bude dál,“ dodal záložník Lukáš Červ.

Vzhledem ke konci Kalvacha, Cadua a pravděpodobném odchodu Šulce bude Viktoria na přestupovém trhu zřejmě hodně aktivní. Zatím potvrdila příchody stopera Karla Spáčila a slovinského záložníka Adriana Zeljkoviče. Brzy by měla oficiálně představit záložníka Denise Višinského, který ze Slavie hostoval v této sezoně v Liberci. „Potřebujeme silný kádr, čeká nás další těžká sezona včetně pohárových předkol. Kvalitním příchodům se tedy určitě nebráním,“ uvedl Koubek.
