Emotionale Szene in Madrid!
In der 87. Minute bei Reals 2:0-Sieg gegen Real Sociedad aus San Sebastián endete bei den Königlichen eine Ära.
Unter großem Jubel im Estadio Santiago Bernabéu verließ Luka Modric (39) den Platz. Das Spiel wurde für mehrere Minuten unterbrochen, Spieler beider Mannschaften bildeten ein Spalier, die Fans erhoben sich applaudierend von ihren Sitzen.
Für den Kroaten und auch Trainer Carlo Ancelotti (65) war es der letzte Auftritt vor heimischem Publikum in Madrid. Während Ancelotti nun das Amt des brasilianischen Nationaltrainers übernimmt, spielt Modric noch die Klub-WM im kommenden Monat und wird Real dann verlassen.
[–>Als Modric vom Platz gegangen war, gab es eine herzliche Umarmung seines langjährigen Teamkollegen Toni Kroos (35), der im vergangenen Sommer seine aktive Karriere beendet hatte. Modric spielte seit 2012 für Real und gewann mit dem Verein unter anderem sechsmal die Champions League, viermal die spanische Meisterschaft und zweimal den Pokalwettbewerb.
Trainer Ancelotti verlässt Real nach vier sehr erfolgreichen Jahren, zuvor war der Italiener bereits von 2013 bis 2015 Trainer der Königlichen. In dieser Zeit gewann er unter anderem dreimal die Champions League, zweimal die spanische Meisterschaft und zweimal den spanischen Pokal. Am Montag soll laut Medienberichten Xabi Alonso (43) als Nachfolger präsentiert werden.
„Der Moment, den ich nie wollte, ist gekommen. Aber es war eine lange Reise, eine wundervolle Reise“, sagte der sichtlich bewegte Modric bei seiner Abschiedsrede im Stadion, die sogar Klub-Boss Florentino Pérez (78) zu Tränen rührte.

Modric weiter: „Ich will dem Klub, dem Präsidenten Florentino Pérez danken. Ich will allen Trainern in all diesen Jahren danken, meinen Mitspielern und allen Menschen, die mir in all der Zeit geholfen haben. Danke von Herzen. An meine Familie ebenfalls. Ohne sie wäre all das nicht möglich. Es ist schwierig, aber am Ende haben wir viel gewonnen. Wir hatten wunderbare Momente, haben viele Titel gewonnen. Aber die größte Trophäe, die ich gewonnen habe, ist eure Liebe, die ihr mir in all den Jahren gezeigt habt. Es gibt wirklich keine Worte, um euch zu danken – für all das, was ihr mir gegeben habt. Ich will einen Satz sagen, den ich sehr mag: Weine nicht, weil es vorbei ist, sondern lächle, weil es passiert ist. Hala Madrid y nada más! Danke!“
