Tiger Woods’ Recent Absence from Competitive Play
Tiger Woods has been on an extended hiatus from professional golf. His last appearance in a PGA Tour event was at The Open Championship in July 2024. He had planned to return at the 2025 Genesis Invitational but withdrew following the passing of his mother, Kultida Woods, in February. In a statement, Woods expressed that he was “just not ready” to return to competition as he continued to process his loss.

Since then, Woods has participated in select events, including the Seminole Pro-Member tournament and matches in the TGL, the tech-infused golf league he co-founded. However, he has not committed to any official PGA Tour events in 2025.

The tournament’s latest press release highlights entries from top players like World No. 1 Scottie Scheffler, Justin Thomas, Shane Lowry, and Tommy Fleetwood but does not mention Woods.

While fans hope for Woods’ return to competitive play, his schedule remains uncertain. He has indicated that he will “start looking at the schedule” once he feels better and more prepared to compete.
