Neymar ist schon da und es ist toll ihn dabei zu haben.“ Dribbler Neymar (33) ist Eigentümer des brasilianischen Teams FURIA.

„Bei zurückgetretenen Spielern ist es etwas einfacher, sie können sich besser auf die Aufgaben fokussieren“, erzählt Kaká kurz vor dem „Kings League World Cup Clubs“.
Der steigt ab 1. Juni in Paris. Dabei spielen die besten Teams aus den unterschiedlichen Kings Leagues (u.a. Deutschland, Italien, Spanien, Südamerika) eine eigene Klub-WM aus.
In der ursprünglich in Spanien erfundenen Kings League treten Mannschaften von gehobenen Amateur-Fußballern im 7-gegen-7 an. In den 2×20 Minuten Spielzeit greifen zahlreiche Spezialregeln, die an Videospiele erinnern. Team-Betreiber sind immer Ex-Fußball-Stars oder bekannte Influencer und Streamer.

Bastian Schweinsteiger (40), Präsident der deutschen Kings League, hofft bald auf Ex-Mitspieler Thomas Müller (35) an seiner Seite: „Direkt nachdem er zurückgetreten ist, habe ich Thomas Müller gefragt, ob er in die Kings League kommen möchte. Ich arbeite dran. Die Stars verfolgen, was hier passiert. Und es wird passieren.“
Der Mexikaner Miguel Layún (38), Boss der Südamerika-Ausgabe, hofft ebenfalls auf weitere Top-Stars als zukünftige Präsidenten, Klub-Betreiber oder Spieler. Er nannte Paulo Dybala (31), Luis Suárez (38) oder Arturo Vidal (38).

Hoffentlich wird dieses Projekt eins für alle Legenden, die Fußball gespielt haben und jetzt ein Teil von uns werden wollen.“
Bei der letzten Klub-WM der Kings League waren rund 100 Millionen Zuschauer („Unique viewers dabei). Demnächst wird die siebte Tochter-Liga für die MENA-Region (Nord-Afrika und Mittlerer Osten) gegründet.
