V utkání šlo o hodně. Domácí Spartak Trnava, neplést se známějším jmenovcem ze Slovenska, potřeboval porazit v přímém souboji lídra Druhé západo-moravské mládežnické ligy z Užice a zajistit si tak postup o soutěž výš.
Celý zápas byl napjatý. Když rozhodčí Nikola Djordjevič v 93. minutě za stavu 1:2 ukončil zápas a hosté začali slavit postup, bylo jen otázkou času, než začne úřadovat horká srbská krev.

Když jeden z hráčů Slobody míjel soupeře, došlo podle serveru Kurir ke kontaktu. Hráči si pak vyměnili několik ostřejších slov a nakonec i strkanců. A pak to začalo. Nejdřív se zapojili i ostatní hráči obou mužstev, krátce na to i realizační týmy a později i diváci, kteří napadli především hlavního rozhodčího. Čároví rozhodčí se snažili ochránit jednoho z hráčů před údery soupeře, ale spíš na něj jen upozornili a nápor se ještě zvětšil.
Došlo nejen na pěsti, ale také na kopání a šlapání na již ležící. Celé to trvalo necelé tři minuty. Několika příčetnějším lidem se totiž podařilo uklidnit ostatní. Jak budou incident řešit srbské fotbalové úřady, v tuto chvíli není jasné, ale práce s tím budou mít víc než dost.
