Rivellino não possui dúvidas sobre o melhor centroavante do futebol brasileiro. Apesar da busca pelo nível físico ideal de Pedro, o comentarista avalia que o camisa 9 merecia uma vaga na primeira convocação de Carlo Ancelotti. Diante da atual escassez de artilheiros, eventuais dificuldades contra Equador e Paraguai poderiam ser resolvidas através do atacante do Flamengo.
“Eu gostaria do Pedro (convocado). Eu acho que ele tem condição de jogar 30 minutos e ser útil. Não tem condições de jogar 90 (minutos)…”, disse Rivellino, no “Cartão Verde”, da TV Cultura.
“Se for analisar, é o único centroavante que nós temos. É o melhor centroavante do futebol brasileiro e não foi convocado.”, acrescentou.
Sem Pedro, Matheus Cunha e Richarlison são as principais opções para comandar o ataque do Brasil. Porém, como Antony, Estêvão, Gabriel Martinelli, Raphinha e Vinícius Júnior foram convocados, Ancelotti pode utilizar um falso 9 em campo.
Decisão de Ancelotti
Em coletiva de imprensa, Ancelotti explicou que deu prioridade aos jogadores que estão 100% fisicamente. Neste cenário, assim como Pedro, Neymar também foi uma das principais ausências da lista.
“Como eu disse, eu tentei selecionar jogadores que estão bem. Atualmente, temos muitos jogadores que sofrem lesões e não podem estar na seleção.”, externou.
Igor Jesus merece seleção? Rivellino elogia atuação
Sob os olhares de Ancelotti, Igor Jesus brilhou na vitória do Botafogo contra a Universidad de Chile, pela Libertadores. Levando em conta que Ancelotti estava presente no Nilton Santos, Rivellino acredita que o centroavante do Botafogo ficou mais motivado em mostrar serviço para, no futuro, voltar à seleção.
“Ele (Ancelotti) não convocou o centroavante do Botafogo. Fez uma grande partida. O Renato Paiva está acertando o time do Botafogo.”, indicou Rivellino.
“Claro (anima). O homem está lá em cima olhando. Quem sabe, fazendo uma grande partida, pode lembrar, sem dúvida alguma. Faz a diferença.”, concluiu.
