Cicinho não mostrou empolgação com o primeiro lugar geral do Palmeiras na fase de grupos da Libertadores. Apesar do aproveitamento de 100% da equipe de Abel Ferreira, o ex-jogador vê margem para uma eliminação logo no início do mata-mata. Isso porque, caso Flamengo, Botafogo, Peñarol ou Atlético Nacional sejam definidos no sorteio como o próximo adversário, existe uma certeza de que o Verdão vai deixar a disputa pelo título continental.
“O Palmeiras é um time muito organizado. Porém, quando pega times organizados, como aconteceu contra o Flamengo, Bahia e Botafogo, ele não conseguiu manter a organização. Perdeu para o Bahia, para o Flamengo e empatou com o Botafogo.”, disse Cicinho, no Jogo Aberto.
“Desses quatro de cima, Botafogo, Peñarol, Flamengo e Atlético Nacional, que são times organizados, qualquer um desses quatro tira o Palmeiras da competição.”, acrescentou.

Atropelando o Sporting Cristal por 6 a 0, o Palmeiras terminou a fase de grupos da Libertadores dando show no Allianz Parque. Porém, levando em conta o revés diante do Flamengo, Cicinho considera que, enfrentando adversários de peso, o time alviverde não se impõe em campo. Por conta disso, os quatro clubes citados possuem ampla capacidade de eliminar o atual líder do Brasileirão.
“O Palmeiras tem esse profissionalismo. Quando joga contra ninguém, ele faz esse tanto de gols. O grupo era muito limitado e o Palmeiras fez por merecer. Até porque, quando pegou o Flamengo, perdeu.”, afirmou.

Ex-jogador do Palmeiras, Edu Dracena admite que o Flamengo é um rival chato de enfrentar. Avaliando que um reencontro será difícil devido ao cenário dos confrontos passados, o comentarista projeta uma “sorte” no sorteio ao indicar o Universitario, do Peru, ocupando o posto de oponente nas oitavas de final.
“Dos que estão aí, o Flamengo é difícil, até porque o jogo não encaixa com o Flamengo. Eu não sei o que acontece. Mas, eu tenho uma leve impressão que o Palmeiras vai pegar o Universitario.”, opinou.
