Após o fechamento da última rodada da Libertadores nesta quinta-feira, houve a definição dos potes 1 e 2 para o sorteio das oitavas de final, que será na próxima segunda, às 12h (de Brasília), com os primeiros e segundos colocados, respectivamente, de cada grupo. Com a classificação/eliminação do Fortaleza, x times brasileiros disputarão o mata-mata do torneio continental: Botafogo, Flamengo, Palmeiras, Internacional, São Paulo e Fortaleza.
Como será o sorteio?
Os líderes dos grupos serão sorteados em partidas contra os segundos colocados. Os donos das melhores campanhas decidem, naturalmente, os confrontos em casa.
Primeiros colocados no pote 1: Estudiantes-ARG, River Plate-ARG, LDU-EQU, São Paulo, Internacional, Palmeiras, Racing-ARG e Vélez Sarsfield-ARG.
Segundos colocados no pote 2: Botafogo, Universitario-PER, Flamengo, Libertad-PAR, Atlético Nacional-COL, Cerro Porteño-PAR, Fortaleza e Peñarol-URU.
Além dos confrontos das oitavas, o sorteio definirá a chave completa do mata-mata da competição, com os caminhos de cada clube. Não há restrições de enfrentamento entre equipes do mesmo grupo ou do mesmo país.
Os jogos de ida acontecerão nos dias 12, 13 e 14 de agosto, enquanto os de volta na semana seguinte, nos dias 19, 20 e 21.
