Celek z Uherského Hradiště má za sebou nejhorší sezonu za posledních patnáct let, kterou zakončil na čtrnáctém místě tabulky první ligy a záchranu v soutěži slavil až v předposledním kole.
Na lavičce hledajícího se celku se postupně vyměnili tři trenéři. Romana Westa v listopadu nahradil Ondřej Smetana, jehož na konci března vystřídal Tomáš Palinek.
Kameník na Uherskohradišťsku žije a na Slovácku nastartoval svou trenérskou kariéru, když v letech 2007 – 2015 vedl různé mládežnické výběry.
Nyní ho na východě Moravy čeká první plnohodnotné trenérské angažmá v nejvyšší soutěži.
Renomé si vydobyl především na své končící štaci ve Vyškově, kde nahradil před dvěma roky na jaře Jana Trousila a tým dovedl třikrát v řadě do baráže.
Ještě před novými povinnostmi ho čeká v neděli odveta baráže proti Dukle Praha. Vyškov v úvodním klání souboje o nejvyšší soutěž s pražským sokem remizoval v domácím azylu v Drnovicích 0:0.
