In der vergangenen Wochen gab es zahlreiche Spekulationen über Cristiano Ronaldos (40) Spieler-Zukunft. Im Hinblick auf die kommende Klub-WM (14. Juni bis 13. Juli) standen einige Wechseloptionen im Raum, um beim Turnier dabei sein zu können.
Auch über einen Verbleib bei seinem jetzigen Verein Al-Nassr ließ Ronaldo alle Türen offen. Bis jetzt!

Laut „Fußballtransfer“ hat das Rätseln um CR7 ein Ende: Er und der Saudi-Klub sind sich einig. Ronaldo soll einen neuen Vertrag unterschreiben.
Dabei sorgte er selbst noch vor wenigen Tagen für Spekulationen auf Instagram. Er schrieb: „Dieses Kapitel ist abgeschlossen. Die Geschichte? Wird noch geschrieben. Ich bin allen dankbar.“ Die kryptische Botschaft deuteten viele Fans als Abschieds-Post.
Jetzt scheint alles in trockenen Tüchern zu sein.
Ronaldo kam Anfang 2023 als erster Superstar nach Saudi-Arabien. Den Transfer ließ er sich saftig bezahlen. Sein Jahresgehalt soll bei und 200 Millionen Euro liegen.
Dabei gilt der Portugiese als Vorreiter des saudischen Profi-Fußballs. Eine Quelle sagte der Nachrichtenagentur AFP: Seine Präsenz sei ein „Schlüsselfaktor für die Entwicklung der Liga. Er habe die Tür geöffnet – für echte Weltstars, aber auch für junge Talente, die sich inzwischen verstärkt nach Saudi-Arabien orientieren.“

Mit dem Verbleib bei Al-Nassr verspielt der Super-Star nun aber eine Teilnahme an der Klub-WM in den USA. Dabei gab es diverse Vereine, die ihn extra für den Wettbewerb einkaufen wollten.
Zuletzt hochgehandelt wurde unter anderem das Interesse des brasilianischen Klubs Botafogo. Auch der marokkanische Verein Wydad Casablanca soll über eine Verpflichtung von Ronaldo für den Zeitraum des Turniers nachgedacht haben, sowie der Los Angeles FC.
Angeblich stand auch ein Wechsel zu Saudi-Liga-Konkurrent Al-Hilal im Raum, was Ronaldo die Teilnahme beschert hätte.
Am Ende kommt alles anders und der Wettbewerb wird offenbar ohne den Super-Star stattfinden.
