The Kelce brothers, Travis and Jason, brought their signature blend of brotherly camaraderie and football flair to the annual Big Slick KC charity event. Following Travis’s recent appearance at Patrick Mahomes’ charity event earlier this month, this latest outing featured a hilariously off-target throw from Travis that had Chiefs fans jokingly grateful he’s not their quarterback.
The T-Mobile Center in Kansas City played host to a star-studded skit on Saturday, May 31st, where Jason Kelce, in a surprise cameo, joined the fun to a roaring reception. The event, which raises crucial funds for the city’s local children’s hospital, saw several celebrities participate in the lighthearted proceedings.
During the skit, “Saturday Night Live” star and Kansas City native Heidi Gardner playfully asked Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes which of the many celebrity participants he’d prefer to hike the ball. Immediately, Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce threw his hat in the ring, alongside Gardner herself and fellow celebrity fans Jason Sudeikis, Paul Rudd, Eric Stonestreet, and Rob Riggle.
Jason’s Surprise Appearance and On-Field Fun
Before Mahomes could even respond to the playful offers, Jason Kelce made a memorable entrance, striding onto the stage with a football in one hand and a can of his Garage Beer in the other, seemingly ready to take on the honors. The crowd’s enthusiastic reaction underscored the affection for the recently retired Eagles center.
Both Kelce brothers also participated in throwing and catching passes during the charity event. These moments were particularly notable as they marked some of Jason’s first public football plays since his retirement from the NFL in March 2024, after an impressive 13 seasons with the Philadelphia Eagles.
Since Jason’s retirement, the Kelce brothers have found they have more opportunities to connect outside of the demands of the NFL season. As Jason exclusively shared last month, their relationship dynamic remains the same, but they now have more time to pursue activities together beyond the football field. This charity event served as another example of their strong bond and shared commitment to giving back to the Kansas City community.
