Palmeiras de Abel Ferreira tem baixo desempenho contra times da parte de cima do Brasileirão desde 2021

Na noite de ontem (01), o Palmeiras enfrentou o Cruzeiro em jogo que podia valer a liderança do Campeonato Brasileiro. Isso porque, o Verdão começou a rodada em primeiro lugar, enquanto a Raposa estava em terceiro, com dois pontos a menos. Com gols marcados nos primeiros cinco minutos de jogo, o clube mineiro venceu por 2 a 1 e subiu para a segunda colocação, atrás apenas do Flamengo, que também venceu na rodada.

E essa derrota do Alviverde contra um time que está no G6, acende um alerta no clube. Desde o Brasileirão de 2021, primeiro ano que Abel Ferreira comandou desde o início, o clube paulista tem tido um baixo desempenho contra os que estão da parte de cima da tabela. Vale destacar que na rodada passada, o Palmeiras já havia perdido para o Flamengo.

Abel Ferreira x G6 do Brasileirão

Logo na sua primeira temporada completa, o desempenho do técnico português quando enfrentou os clubes das primeiras posições foi disparado o pior. Na ocasião, dos 10 jogos contra os times do G6, o Verdão não venceu nenhum. Foram oito derrotas e dois empates. No fim, terminou em terceiro, com 18 pontos atrás do campeão.

Em 2022, quando foi campeão com sobras, o desempenho foi até melhor, mas não muito. Foram quatro vitórias, quatro empates e duas derrotas. Depois, em 2023, voltou a cair, tendo apenas duas vitórias, três empates e cinco derrotas. Destaque para a vitória diante do Botafogo, na virada histórica por 4 a 3, resultado fundamental na conquista do título, o que mostra a importância de vencer esse tipo de jogo se quiser ser campeão.

Então, em 2024, o desempenho voltou a cair bem, com o Alviverde tendo apenas uma vitória, cinco empates e quatro derrotas. Isso da um aproveitamento de 26%, o que comprometeu diretamente na briga pelo título. Vale lembrar que o Palmeiras dependia apenas de si para ser campeão, já que era líder até a 36ª rodada. Mas, foi derrota em casa pelo Botafogo, perdendo a primeira posição e, consequentemente, o título.

Palmeiras segue igual em 2025

Na atual edição do Brasileirão, o cenário não mudou. Até agora, enfrentou quatro times do G6 e só venceu o Bragantino. Os outros três jogos, contra Flamengo, Cruzeiro e Bahia, saiu derrotado, sendo dois desses confrontos em casa. O que da um aproveitamento de apenas 25% nos jogos que acabam muitas vezes decidindo o campeonato.

Agora, o Palmeiras da uma parada no Brasileirão e foca no Mundial de Clubes, que começa em menos de duas semanas. O próximo compromisso é contra o Porto (POR), no dia 15, às 19h (de Brasília), pela primeira rodada da fase de grupos da competição. Depois, ainda encara o Al-Ahly (EGI) e o Inter Miami (EUA), time de Lionel Messi.
